I was actually hoping to get 2 hand bouquets... the crystal and the felt one. But I'm afraid it's too ex.. Haiz..

I did my hand on the diy crystal hand bouquets.. but my mother thinks that it's not up to those last two pictures posted above...

This is my try... not as good.. But i will need to purchase more crystals and pearl to make it really full...
Bf was saying that I should stop making these and purchase one of the crystal bouquet from the store for our prewedding and actual day hand bouquet.

As to those that i've done.. he say to place it in a vase and add it to our home decoration. Hmmmm

My mother actually found the crystal bouquet at Chinese Wedding Shop... and she claims that it's super nice! Comes with nice price tag too! So I'm going to drop by the store and take a good look. But we more or less has confirm that crystal bouquet. Highly doubt that I will be having the felt flowers. Unless I purchased it secretly and show it to bf at the eleventh hour??!!

Those who read my blog will know that I'm in the midst of preparing my wedding.
It's really a very stressful and exciting journey... more exciting for me cos it's a girl's ultimate dream to plan her own wedding! Stressful part belongs to bf cos he's the paymaster. hahahaha

Wedding planning  may be stressful and fraustrating but thru these we learn to compromise and make each other see and listen to our points. It may not be very smooth sailing planning our wedding due to budget constrains. But still I learn to enjoy all these cos planning our wedding together is the very first step to our future daily life where we need to compromise and learn more about each other's likes and dislikes...

I've nothing much to say... but that I'm very bliss and happily in love!

Nostalgic Time @ MINT

Finally visited MINT! I have been wanting to visit this Museum of Toys for the longest time, but due to work and other stuffs didn't have a chance to visit.

So when groupon has a super good deal on the admission ticket for the MINT.. I immediately purchased the tickets without checking with bf if he's free to go with me. But lucky me, we managed to find time to visit this little heaven.

A little of about MINT..

MINT (Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys) Museum of Toys is the world's first purpose-built museum for toys, and opened its door to the public in May 2006. It was officially launched by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr George Yeo, on 5 March 2007.

Belonging to Mr Chang Yang Fa, a Singapore Citizen, the private museum showcases an extensive collection of vintage toys, including rare and unique one-of-a-kind pieces. It is considered to be the largest collection of its kind within Southeast Asia, with more than 50,000 pieces of vintage toys and childhood memorabilia from more than 40 countries, including Singapore, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, the United States, and even Bulgaria. The collection ranges from the mid-19th Century to the mid-20th Century.

One of the objectives of the museum is to reach out to the child in every one of us, giving visitors an emotional link to their childhood, one which has often been long forgotten. In addition, a visit to the museum is also a journey of discovery. More than mere playthings, the vintage toys on display reflect interesting international cultural trends and historically accurate events that have taken place over the centuries. Each of them tells a different story that represents the era in which they were made in.

So far both me and my bf enjoy our mini date at MINT. As we are both so busy with our work and other stuffs that we seldom have the time go out dating.. so I'm looking forward to the next public holiday where we can spend more time hanging out!

Checklist for my upcoming trip!!

Yuppie!! Another 2.5 weeks to go and I'm off to my holiday trip with my gal friend, S.

Take at the Largos Hotel Life @ HK Trip 2010

This is our 2nd trip together to Hongkong!!! Am looking forward to this trip as I'm going to HK with 2 intentions...
1) to purchase my wedding stuffs (eg, tea set,dowry set,decor,shoes...etc)
2) Finally a visit to Macau

So a checklist of what we are suppose to do before flying off..

1) Plan our itinary - CHECKED
2) Change HK currency
3) Purchase travel insurance - CHECKED
4) Ensure Passport validity date - CHECKED
5) Prepare & Pack all necessary documents (eg, E-ticket, Hotel comfirmation) - CHECKED
6) Pack my luggage

See from my list... 2 more items to be check off! These can be done another week.
Am hopping that HK currency is good! Check today's rate @ DBS bank website.. SG$1 - HK$6.13
Wonder if it will go up to HK$6.20??

Yes!! I've pass

On my 2nd attempt... I pass my DRIVING TEST!!!! Yeah!! (^__^)v

So from now on I don't have to spend extra $$ on my driving lessons and can save more $$ for my wedding!
I have yet to receive my photocard driving license. Will only received it after 1 mth..

Finally 1 goal being checked off my list! Off to aim for my next goal!

How to choose a Wedding Photographer???!!!

I came across this picture when I was browsing their Pinterest.

And this interesting fact caught my eye!

Thought it's quite informative though some of the information might not be relevant to Singapore's BTB!

 

 

 Some tips on choose wedding photographer..

1. What do you consider your photography style to be?

Photo journalistic pictures have been very popular. The photographer captures events as it happens without alot of posing. Some people prefer more traditional photographs where most of the photos are taken posed.  Many photographers combine both styles very well. Familiarize yourself with the different types of photography before you go shopping so you know what style you like.

     2. Do you shoot colour, black and white or both?

When photography are exclusively shot on film, photographers had to carry multiple camera to capture the event with both colour and black and white. Now with digital photography, everything can be shot in colour and then convert to black and white. Some people say that the artistry of the black and white photos are lost in the conversion. If black and white photography is important to you, you should make sure you love the finished product whether it's shot with film or digitally.

     3. Do you bring a second photographer or an assistant?

Some wedding photographers will bring a second shooter with them while others might only bring someone to carry gears. Make sure you know which you're getting.

     4. Do you work well with videographers?
Videography is an important part of preserving memories. Some photographers work well with them, other find them intrusive. If you want both a photographer and videographer (which I highly recommend) make sure your photographer is aware and happy.

   5. Do you correct your photos?

With digital photography most wedding photographers can fix their photographs. They will take out imperfection, hide some wrinkles and blemish and maybe get rid of that double chin. Find out that your photographer has that capability and if they charge extra for the service.

    6. Will the photographer gives you a high resolution cd of your images?

Some photographers are willing to hand over the rights of your photos so you can have copies printed at will. while others prefer you to purchase reprint directly from them. Find out your potential photographer's policy prior signing the contract.

7. What comes in my photography package?

Photographer charge many different ways. Some charge a shooting fee and then give a credit towards an album other have a complete package that includes shooting time, photos and an album. When making comparison, make sure you know what you are getting.

 Seriously, I didn't know that there's so much knowledge in choosing a wedding photographer. But ultimately, I still think that BTB must like your potiental photographers work. And for me, not only I that I like their photography style.. their package $$ must also suits my budget!!

My bridal package shopping experience

Unlike the other brides to be that prefer to have a 1 stop service package, I choose to go a la cart. Reason is that I don't want to spend so much $$ on the photography package. I have a hand few of married friends that spent a bomb on their bridal package because of photography. Topping up of photograph can easily cost $80 per piece. And most bridal shop need you have top up at least a min number. Especially this is a once a in life time event, most girls would want to top up extra photos on top of their existing pre determine poses stated in their package.

This is something that I won't want to happen. Cos I heard that after spending so much $$ on the photographs, after 1 year of marriage... all the photos are hiding at the storeroom or underneath the bed.. A big NO for me.

At first, bf and I decided to go HK for our pre wed photos but after calculating the cost, we drop the idea. So in my previous post, I have hired Oh,Dear! Photography for my pre wed photographer!

So this is fixed, next item on my list ------------- BRIDAL GOWN!
Yup, I would prefer to have a mixture of bridal gown and causal wear shoots!

So i tried to conqure the whole Tanjong Pajar street of bridal shops.. but in fact there are too many. So I listed my preferred bridal shops.

1) Rico-a-mona
2) DioGio
3) My Dream Wedding
4) Sophia Wedding
5) La Bella

These are the few types of gown I'm hoping to wear.

 My Dream Wedding - Among all... I actually have quite high hopes on MDW but unfortunately went i inform them that I already have my own photographer for my pre wed photos. They don't seems to want to take my business. So I only spent like 5-6 mins in the shop and out i went.

Sophia wedding - Nice gowns but they didn't have wide selections. Plus they didn't offered to let me try on gowns. Quoted me $3.6K.. way over my budget!

Rico-a-mona - I feel comfortable with the coordinator and she let me tried on some of her new gowns for actual day gown but i was so excited to see myself wearing a gown that I forgotten to ask her to let me try on the outdoor gown selections... As my photo shoot date are so much nearer than my actual day. Price wise still quite reasonable. Ard $3k incl GST

Digio - Wide selections of gown.. Imagine a whole level of gown dedicated for outdoor selections and actual day wedding gown + evening gown. Though there are too many gowns to choose, didn't really see "the dress" that I want to wear yet... but seeing that they have such wide variety don't think I'm too worried. Package seems quite flexible and price is reasonable. Quoted by $2.8k nett

La Belle Couture -Service wise is quite good. The sales person asked me afew questions just to get to know my preferences better in order to recommend the most suited wedding gown for my figure. Didn't get to try much outdoor gowns as there are already 2 brides trying gowns.. hear from the consultant that we need to make appt in order to try the gowns. Outdoor gowns aren't really alot of choices. As usual, mixed feelings cos I would rather concentrate on searching my outdoor gowns but since i didn't see much nor tried any. Thus I can't say much. But the package is excately what i needed. Price is $2.9K

Kinda of tired to continue searching for bridal shop... my mother and i have good feelings on Digio. So waiting for a suitable day and time for bf to pop by this bridal shop to take a look at their gowns.

Our Good Friday date!

I have been wanting to visit the Titanic Exhibition since they have here in SG... Only till today than we have the time to visit Titanic together!

So off we go... braving a super heavy rain in BBP area in early afternoon! God must have know that today is the only day where we could hang out tgt for almost a whole day so he bless us with good weather!

Photography is strictly prohibited but i still managed to snap bit here and there! I really like how they recreate the Promenade - (open deck)... It's almost like we are at Titanic herself... We can feel the breeze (of cos, it's due to the premises' strong air con) and the stars. And at that moment we said to each other, we must go on a cruise together! Somehow we will get to enjoy the actual sea breeze!

In this gallery, we were showed how the Titanic sink, an iceberg that loomed out the calm night of the tragedy. An actual sheet of ice to experience the freezing waters of the North Atlantic..

Everyone was given a boarding pass which indicate the passengers' name that board Titanic... and at the end of the gallery, we could search and see if the passenger survived the ordeal..

Both bf n I managed to view the whole gallery within an hour but we think it's really fun and amazing. A little bit sad cos from the listing of over 2200 passengers, we saw many 1st class passengers where saved where as the 3rd class and crews did not survived the ordeal... To me, I think all the point of time..being the in the 1st class socitey means you're who and who.. thus given priority... but i read from the gallery that many passengers from the 3rd class are working class..

Actual nuts and bots used in Titanic

Right after Titanic, we made our way to Marina Square... had our early dinner and went up to Prize Stage to try our luck. And result = no lucky catch today!

And we ended our date with a quick check on our future home progress... (^_^v)

We saw more machinery on site but they don't seem to do any piling yet.. both bf and I think maybe by the next 3 years we can receive our key! Gotta to work really hard!! Jia you!
