12 mths of memories..

Just attended a class from Made With Love.. Had lots of fun scrapping.
And learn many useful tips in creating a album from scratch and also printing journaling on the paper pattern using a typewriter. Silly me, to think that most of the scrappers actually own a vintage typewriter. But i learn the trick! All thanks to WWW, i download the typewriter font and tada!!!
All my journals are created by typewriter!

I decided to use all the photos that I've taken during my holidays for this album, as Year 2010, beside California, I also visit HongKong again..

Can't wait to create a monthly calendar for 2011...

1 more month to go before we enter the year 2011.
It's time to list Christmas gifts.. and resolutions too..

San Francisco Trip 2010 - Golden Gate Bridge

After visiting farmers' market.. together with Mr Li and his friend, we drove our way to San Francisco... to finally view.. GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE.

Some facts on the Golden Gate Bridge on the wikipedia..

The Golden Gate Bridge is a vermillion orange suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay into the Pacific Ocean. As part of both U.S. Route 101 and  California State Route 1, on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County. The Golden Gate Bridge was the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed during the year 1937, and has become one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and of the United States. Despite its span length being surpassed by eight other bridges since its completion, it still has the second longest suspension bridge main span in the United States, after th Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in New York City. It has been declared one of the modern Wonders of the World by the American Sociey of Civil Engineers. The Frommers travel guide considers the Golden Gate Bridge the "possibly the most beautiful, certainly the most photographed, bridge in the world" (although Frommers also bestows the most photographed honor onTower Bridge in London, England).

Wasn't a really good day to visit the Golden Gate Bridge as it's a foggy day.. With the windy weather, we walked half way thru the bridge and decided to make our way back... to Pier 39 for our seafood lunch! Yippeee

巾帼枭雄之义海豪情 {No Regret}

This is one of the TVB drama not to be missed this year..

Synopsis

Set in the late 1930s to early 1940s in Canton, Republic of China, No Regrets is an epictriad family, the Guangzhou police force, and the Japanese Occupation of the city. The Chinese title of drama that centers around a No Regrets (巾幗梟雄之義海豪情) literally translates to "Veiled Heroine, Ruthless Hero: Righteous Sea, Heroic Passion", referring to both the chaotic period of war and the complicated relationship shared by the two main characters, Cheng Kau-mui (Sheren Tang) and Lau Sing (Wayne Lai).

Guangzhou is in a state of political turmoil in the 1930s. Gangsters are on a rampage and opium trading becomes rampant. As they watch the illicit profits from opium trading escalate, the government forms the Anti-Smoking Bureau under the guise of suppressing opium, but the bureau is under the influence of Cheng Long-kwan (Elliot Ngok), the gang’s kingpin. His eldest daughter Cheng Kau-mui (Sheren Tang) who is an unscrupulous person soon returns from Shanghai to reap the rewards. Mui meticulously plans her every move.

On the other hand, Lau Sing (Wayne Lai) is the leader of the Criminal Investigation Team. He has worked hard all his life to ensure an easy trail for his family, especially for his bed-ridden younger sister Lau Ching (Fala Chen). Despite his hot temper, he values friendship and brotherhood more than anything else. Once, he almost sacrificed his life to help his timid teammate, Tong Kat (Pierre Ngo).
Meanwhile, the Japanese army invades China and Canton falls into the hands of the Japanese. Mui enters the darkest time in her life when her aunt Cheng Long-hei (Susan Tse) frames her..

Ever since this drama premier.. i've been gluing my eyes either on the TV or on PPTV!! I believe [No Regrets] will bring a much greater heights than it's first sequel!

Post Hongkong Trip 2010 - Day 2 ~ Lantau Island + Citygate

After a gloomy and rainy day in Hongkong, here is my 2nd day recount of my HK trip.

- Went to Kam Wah Cafe 金華冰廳  at Prince Edward
Famous for their Polo Bun & Egg Tarts..
And their Polo Bun is sooooo good that i wish i can fly back to HK again to have a bite of their polo bun...

Kam Wah Cafe is located right on the busy Bute Street, which can easily be spotted due to the crowds outside the restaurant taking away the delicious Polo Buns and other pastries.
How to get there: MTR Prince Edward, Exit B3
Since it's a Sunday, it's usually crowded with their local people and it's a common practice to share table.

The best polo bun i've even tasted!!!!

Whole set of breakfast just cost me HK$28

My morning can't do without - Milk Tea!

-Next we went to Lantau Island to view the big Buddha, after spending about 2hrs ++ to purchase the cable ticket and to board the cable car... I finally reach Lantau Island, Ngong Ping Village at about 3.30 - 4pm...
Make our way to climb the long flight of stairs to view the Buddha.. many people say that if one were to look carefully, it seems that the Buddha has close his eyes not wanting to see how evil we human beings are...

Although many hours was spent queing up, but the trip to Ngong Ping Village is really enlightening.. Especially 1 of the show that is included in the package.. Walk with the Budhha..

End of the show, we were brought to this place, can't remember the full name.. but something Wisdom.. N one of the quotes were..

"In this world, hatred is never overcome by hatred.
Only tolerance can prevail over hatred, This is an enternal truth"
So off we went to que up to take the cable car back to Tung Chung station.. again it's another 1hr to board the cable car .. and the whole journey take about 25 mins.. But the night view was great and it could be better if that day's weather wasn't soo foggy.

Didn't purchase any bags in the Citygates Outlets.. Just 2 tops from Espirit..
Although the price at outlet compare to Singapore's boutique are much cheaper than after i've been to the outlets in States. I still find those that are selling in states are soo much cheaper.. So maybe i shall start saving $$ again for another trip to USA!

Right after Citygates, we went back to our hotel for a short refresh. From Tung Chung MTR to alight at Lai King to change mtr to Jordan. Hongkong's MTR are really so convientiant.

After a short re-charge at our hotel room, we went to venture Temple's Street... and of cos Da Pang Dong!

My loots for the day
