Year 2012...

Today is the last day of year 2012 and we survived the "End of the World" prophecy.. Hahhahhahaha
I know it's lame! (-__-")

This year has been quite fulfilling for me.

  1. I got engaged to the man I love.
  2. I took a leap of faith and step out of my comfort zone to switch job.
  3. Found a better fulfillment in my new job.
  4. Pass my driving test on the 2nd attempt!
  5. Plan our wedding - from 1.5 years to 6 months preparation.
  6. Bought our first love nest together @ Fernvale Lea! - can't wait for the house to be up and ready!!
  7. Took our Prewed photos with Oh!Dear Photography.
  8. Started using SK2 products due to wedding
  9. Resume back my Electone classes
  10. Managed to slim down a tiny bit!! Hehe
Though the weather may be rainy the whole day but i believe that it's because after the rain there is always rainbow.. I hope tomorrow my wedding day, the weather will be fine.

2012 has been kind to me. And I will continue to work hard to acheived my goals in 2013.

Love you all!!

Have a happy happy NEW YEAR!!!

Wedding Preparation: Collections of Cert

It's a day before our wedding!! Can't imagine time passes by sooo fast!

Today we had our appointment to collect our marriage certs at ROM. Though according to old folks tales that bride & groom aren't supposed to meet each other like 2 weeks before the wedding and some say 1 day before. But we don't really "pang dang" so we went ahead to collect our cert and get ready all the last min preparations.

It's a little bit gan cheong when our turning is getting near... but all is well! And we have to do this tiny oath of declarations.. Mr Lee so gan cheong that he couldn't pronounce some of the words correctly.. Heheehhe

Today is such a busy day for us & weather isn't very great. Has been pouring since early afternoon.. hopefully tomorrow weather will be fine for us...

Have a great day!!

After we are done with Guo Da Li... my main wooden door and bedroom door is stick with Shuang Xi! Red happiness!! Hehehe

Using 50mm f1.8 lens to shoot all this images. I love this image.. the wooden / foresty feel

I've collected my gown and the wedding gown is at my place.... I envision the actual day shoot to snap pic of my gown and DIY hanger!!

Can't wait for my wedding!!! Soooo excited!!

Wedding preparations: Pre wed jitters??!

I guess most brides will have this pre wedding jitters. It's not about whether you made the right choice of marrying the man because you will know this the moment you're together...

For me, It's my ONLY big day. I cannot allow mistakes! So things have to run smoothly and I've informed all my bridesmaid to play by ear on that day and luckily our wedding is a small scale one.

I happened to come across this US wedding website.. and they have a post about having a small weddings and what they wrote is exactly how I feel!

So there is the 10 reasons to have a small wedding

Words and Image from: intimateweddings

1. You get to celebrate one of the biggest days of your life surrounded by people who love you.
2. You can feel more relaxed on your wedding day. Because you’ll be surrounded by friends and family, you’ll feel more at home with your guests. Your wedding will feel more like a celebration with close-knit friends and family, than a production.
3. You can save money. (For us as it's a small scale wedding, unlike those couples with 20 - 30 tables... our wedding dinner bill doesn't cost us so much)
4. You can splurge. Some couples choose a small guest list not necessarily because their budgets are small, but because they can pull out all the stops and have a truly lavish wedding. You get more ‘wow’ for less wallet with a small wedding. When you’ve got fewer guests, you can splurge on the things that really matter to you.  ( For me, it's PHOTOGRAPHY! I've loved One Eye's Click works and Mr Lee is sooo good to me that he actually hire them for our Actual Day shoot!!)
5. You have more options when choosing a venue. Since you won’t need a large space to accommodate your guests, many small wedding venues will be open to you. A smaller guest list means more creative venue options like bed and breakfasts, museums, art galleries and restaurants.  (Yes!! Precisely . We choose a semi -outdoor venue with buffet dinner...)
6. You have more freedom to customize your wedding to your own tastes. A small wedding gives you the opportunity to get your creative juices flowing and make your unique wedding a reflection of the two of you. (I've done lots of DIY!!)
7. You get to spend time with your guests. How many weddings have made you feel like a stranger fulfilling a social obligation? Small weddings aren’t like that. When the guest list is small, the bride and groom can spend time with each of their guests, making them feel welcome.
8. You can make your guests feel at home. Because you will be able to spend at least some time with your guests, they will feel more at home at your wedding. Also, when the guest list is small, guests will have a better opportunity to mingle with most of the others. Chances are that many of your guests will know one another.
9. You can get your guests involved. A small wedding will give you the opportunity to get your loved ones involved in your special day. Also, it’s a lot easier pulling off a DIY wedding with a guest list under 75, than a big scale production.
10. You can have a wedding that people will remember. Because your wedding won’t be typical – the kind your guests have been to over and over again – your wedding is more likely to be remembered.

It's just another 2 more days to our wedding!!
Hope everything will run smoothly and last but not least, WEATHER!! Pls! Be good to us!

Thank you!!

Felicia

Have yourself a Merry Christmas!

It's Christmas time!! It's the wonderful time of the year.. this year's Christmas  I didn't have to purchase alot of presents cause unlike my previous company where almost everyone will buy gifts for each other.. my current office (dept) is kinda of small.. So i only purchase chocolates for my colleagues and boss! Hahaaha and like wise, I received chocolates too! Fat die me......... ~~~

This year's Christmas is my last year celebrating as a single gal.. Wedding is getting nearer in 6 days time..

Today weather is super nice.. planing to go out for a jog and snap some pictures during Sunset!

My Christmas Wish List!

Marc Jacobs Watch!!

Can you believe my current watch have already last me for the past 6-7 years, it's still going on but I have been lusting over marc jacobs watch for quite a while... Hmm.. maybe I can get it for myself next year! Heheheheh

I've been thinking about Canon 600D (body) or 60D (body)... Not that mine current DSLR isn't good enough for me.. but i wish to have a higher ISO and video functions in my DSLR. Hmm... again I guess this camera can bring forward to my next year wish list..

Than what's is my wish for this Christmas? I don't need anything cause I going to have a fairytale wedding soon in Jan 2013!

Have fun this Christmas~

Wedding Preparations: Counting down!

Some people say time flies when you're in love and busy.. Yes!

Both Mr Lee & I are very much in love and we are soo busy with our work and also wedding preparations.

We are now down to 8 days till our wedding!!

Currently I still have these items outstanding which I'm going to get it done soon!!

1) The most frustrating - Guest Seating Arrangement.
This is really very "headache" cos the guests that I invited, mostly they know each other. But I still have to seat them according. I really wish it's a free seating thing. Haiz..
What's even better?? People don't RSVP back to us.

2) Some final DIY touches - Guest's place cards (Pin wheels)
Cos I haven't decided on their seating arrangement, so I couldn't write their name and table number on the pinwheel. Haiz.

3) Shifting my stuffs over to Mr Lee's place
This is kinda of difficult to do it cos I'm not suppose to meet Mr Lee for 2 weeks after we have done our GDL.. but we still meet each other secretly..

4) Wedding Walk in Playlist
We have already chosen our songs for walk in.. so now we have to burn it in a disc. This should be easy! Heheh

Just to share some of the DIY stuffs that I do for my wedding..

A personalizaed hanger for Mr Lee & myself.

A DIY photo frame for all my Bridesmaids

10 Commandments of Love - which we both have to sign when Mr Lee is here for his gatecrash

Paper Dollies with Love - to be tied around the 2 trees in front of Glass Pavilion together with our photos

I did a total of 14 paper rosettes of different sizes, meant for decorations. Which I will leave it up to my bridesmaids to decorate.

As mention in my previous blog post. I will having a DIY photobooth - so these are all the props that I've prepare!

Last but not least.. My DIY paper rosette flowers. Which I will place it at the reception table together with my album...

I hope the decorations will turn up as how I imagine...

I almost forgotten to blog about this! The solemnization package that we sign up with Amara Sanctuary has 2 florists for us to choose. I check out their facebook pages and I love this decorations.

All this images are taken from Sing See Soon's facebook page.

So I met up with Rachelle from Sing See Soon to discuss about my decorations for the Glass Pavilion.
And I told her that I prefer a rustic decorations and my wedding theme is Rustic/Vintage & Whimsical...

So she will help me to add some other flowers beside gerberas... I can't wait to see the final results of the flowers on that day!!

Right now, this bride to be is going to chill and relax and pamper myself. This week is going to be a busy week for me as I'll go for my eyebrow shaping, mani & pandi appointments!

Have a great week & Merry Christmas!

A busy Tuesday

Yesterday we had our Guo Da Li.. As we weren't really the traditional kind of people and this has to be done thus we opt for the simplest way to do.

Early in the morning, Mr Lee and his parents come over to my place to give all the GDL stuffs, and I was told to hide inside my room until all the exchange of stuffs are done. So no pictures are taken!

Taken after the process is done... I'm given my jewellery by my MIL
Mr Lee's dad is quite pan dang kind so he told him that we are not supposed to meet each other for the next 2 weeks. And I was like , "Huh???!! But we still have to go for our Final Fitting for our wedding attires and also to collect our ROM certfiicates??!". So we decided to meet each other secretly! Hahaha

After GDL, we had an appointment for our Final Fitting. I really envy Mr Lee much, he is so skinny that he don't have much alternations to do!
I still have to go back again for some minor alternations! Ai yo!!

Tried on my Wedding Gown, still need some minor adjustment as on the shoulder strap as I'm wearing a toga style wedding dress. Love my wedding gown details with sweetheart details. Somehow from my memories, my wedding gown very revealing but when i put it on.. Gosh! My boobs almost feel like it's spilling out! But I was thinking so long I don't expose myself, it's my wedding day. I have the assets to flaunt it than I should... If not want to wait till went??!! (^_~)

My next love is this evening gown! I was set out wanting to have a Red Colour evening gown but all the design didn't suit me very well so I managed to choose this light blue colour. I love love love the velet details and the sparkler of the inner layer tulle. It make me seems like a Sparkling Princess! Hahah

The only red dress that I will be wearing is this Tea Dress. Had to do quite alot of alternations for me as the length of this dress is so long, my coordinator has to fold in the hems for me and also I requested a lower neckline so all the previous measurement take for me have to redo..

So I'm going back again this Sunday to try on my gown. Next Thursday, I'll collect my gowns and get ready for my wedding!

Our last stop.. Maxwell Food Center! Previously when i went there in Oct for my selections, the hawker center is close for renovation. Recently they have open their doors and i'm in treat for yummy food!
The Hokien Mee here is just so so but I love the Lao Ban Beancurd and there is this store that sells yummy fried sweet potatoes. I can eat 3 balls at a go!! Hahahaha

I should stop being a pig and exercise control! Wedding date is getting nearer and I'm no where of getting silm. Haha

Stay tune of my next blog post as I will post more on my DIY stuffs for wedding!!

Have a great day!

Felicia

Anxious feeling

Maybe it's the pre wedding jitters! Or I'm easily influence by other ppl??

Recently I come across 2 blogs about bride to be who are happily preparing their wedding and the next min is it's cancelled off. And beside reading from other ppl's blogs, I've also heard stories from my friend's friend who cancel their wedding. Mostly they felt they are not ready for marriage or invasion of 3rd party.Which I feel so sad for them.

Reading and hearing all these makes me worry for nothing. Until I share all of this with Mr Lee, and he just smile at me and said, "if i do not have the commitment for you, I wouldn't purchase that engagement ring for me with all that i have". My reply to him was, "Marriage is not easy, so long we both are willing to try and make it work, I guess nothing is impossible". Plus I'm pretty sure he is full of love for me. (^_~)

With my wedding date getting nearer.. some of my married friends gave me advice. To make the marriage works, you have to learn to compromise, trust and have faith in each other.

So I did this poster out of fun and also to remind us of LOVE.

Have a great week!

Wedding Preparation: Photobooth

Recently photo booth is a craze in most wedding! It's fun for all ages!

I would want to have a proper photo booth for my wedding, search for alot of companies and asked for quotation.. Mostly the prices ranged from S$500 - S$1k for a few hours with unlimited prints.

However, my request for photo booth was rejected by Mr Lee because of budget & our all in one wedding (Solemnization + Wedding dinner) will be held at Amara Sanctuary Resort, placing a photo booth can be quite a problem. Cause the venue is like semi-outdoor.

But I know somewhere in my heart & mind that I would like to have a photo booth.. so i source for ideas to have a outdoor photobooth...

Pinterest
Super love this idea.. I might have not the lounge sofa for my guests to snap pictures with.. However I'll have lush green background with some photo props.

The nice ppl at IM. Perfection who sponsor us the LOVE sign when we took our pre wed photos with Oh! Dear Photography... they have lots of creative props rental for wedding.

I've been searching high and low for this life size poloriod frame.. Couldn't find one to rental in Singapore as mostly such props are provided if you sign up for normal photo booth package. So I decided to try my luck with IM. Perfection! They grant my wish!

So these will be the frames that I will be renting with them, add a few speech bubble props and set up my DSLR with tripod. And I'm set with my DIY photobooth..

I hope that everything will go smoothly and be carried out as I plan!

Going for my last meeting with my wedding co-ordinator @ Amara Sanctuary!

Have a great weekend!!
