Being Happy..

Be myself! Doing what I want, achieving goals not living up to others expectation because this is my life! It's just tuning out the little voice that says " Wat will you think abt this..."

Accept and forget.. Write down all my flaws everything that I don't like about myself. Divide them into 3 columns: worth worrying about, who cares? and why is it even on this list? Rip them all up.. It's not about changing myself. It's being myself and loving myself for it.

Eliminate! Identify places or people or things that will make me feel uncomfortable with. Eliminate this stuff from my schedule. I've no time for people who don't accept me.

Forget other's opinions. If i feel fat because someone said I'm than they were probably covering up for their own insecurity problem. Feel superior, take the high road and forget.

Learn to forgive. Once my self-esteem is booming and confidence is glowing.. bet, at least one person will be sorry. Forgive and forget. Everyone makes mistakes.

Enjoy myself. Live in short. Live it well. Never back down from an obstacle I face. And always remember.. " You are you and it's only the world around you."

HongKong drama craze..

My start of Hongkong drama craze has gone back to it's original state ever since I've completed my Dip class.. This year.. I've vow to totally sit back and relax on my off days! Basically my off days will be filled with scrapping, shopping and watching my fave HK dramas..

I've just finish watching this series of TVB costume drama called " Sweetness in the Salt ", talking about salt traders in the olden days and about friendship and family... Kinda of nice but the ending is so - so...

And now.. I'm totally hooked to a current series called "E.U " aka The Police Academy III! In the drama.. I like the 2 main characthers.. Ron Ng and Sammuel Chan.. hahahahaha.. Just like the another show "Triumph in the skies", one of my fave...

A short intro of the above mention drama....

How to sew and embroider on your scrapbook layout.

Hand-Stitching & Embroidery
Get Ready...
Use a pencil to lightly draw the design on cardstock (regular paper generally isn't strong enough to withstand all the extra handling that sewing requires.) Another option is to draw or trace a simple design onto lightweight paper (such as tracing paper) and temporarily adhere it to your page so it doesn't wiggle around during the next step.
What to stitch? It's generally best to keep your design simple and stick to just the outline of the image. You can embellish later when you fill in your design with chalks or colored pencils. Popular choices for scrapbooking embroidery include snowflakes, fish, hearts, and flowers, but you can use absolutely any simple design you can find.
Where can I find simple designs? Make a freehand drawing or trace your favorite designs from diecuts, stickers, stamps or templates. Here are two ideas I loved from Creating Keepsakes magazine: Trace a design from your kids' favorite coloring books - or trace around your child's hand or foot and embroider the outline.
Get Set
Place your page on a surface that is firm, yet allows a little "give." I like to use a mouse pad or my Coluzzle mat. You can also use a pillow, cushion, or a piece of Styrofoam. Now pierce holes in the cardstock about every 1/8" - depending on the effect you want to achieve - while following the lines of your design.
Choose a piercing tool most appropriate for the thickness of your thread. If you will be using thread or floss, use a straightpin, a needle, or a safety pin. For larger holes, use a pushtack or a paper piercing tool. Again, you'll want to consider the look you're trying to achieve before choosing a tool. (If you marked your page with pencil, this is the time to erase.)
Stitch!
Stitch the design. The backstitch is the simplest, but you can experiment with different stitches as you practice the technique. Now you can fill in the design with chalk, if you wish. You can also apply chalk directly to the floss to create just the right color.
Machine Sewing on PaperMachine-sewing on paper is much the same as sewing on fabric. It takes a little practice, but don't let the idea intimidate you.A couple of tips:-
Before you start to stitch, make sure your bobbin has enough thread to finish the job. If your bobbin runs out of thread midway, you'll be left with holes in the paper that you'll have to work to conceal.
- Don't try to machine stitch more than 3 layers at a time.
- Don't "knot" the thread as you would when sewing on fabric by going over the same spot
repeatedly. Secure the thread underneath by adhering it to piece of paper, and it won't unravel.
The Possibilities
You can stitch with thread, ribbon, yarn, raffia, jute, fibers, and embroidery floss, such as DMC. Floss is inexpensive, widely available, and comes in every shade imaginable. Plus you control the thickness because each floss is made up of 6 strands. Use them all, or just one or two. Or use one or two strands of more than one color.Once you've had a little practice, you'll start sewing on everything.
A few ideas:
- Create your own backgrounds and borders by piecing together cardstock blocks or strips.
- Embellish and attach diecuts for a custom, dimensional look.
- Create paper or fabric pockets to hold journaling blocks, extra photos, or simple memorabilia.- Stitch around lettering and titles.
- Embellish journaling blocks.
- Draw attention to a photo by stitching on the mat
- Adhere vellum to your background. (Vellum is translucent, so it will often show the glue that lies beneath it. Try stitching it on instead.)
- Create decorative handmade accents that you attach to a page. One popular technique combines sewing with tearing. Sew along an edge first, then tear just on the other side of your stitches. Push the torn edge up.

The end of HK Drama - The Gem of Life

The Gem of life story revolves the lives of 3 sisters.. Looking for fame, romance and success. Another TVB big cast drama.. with a total of 82 epi. Although the first 20 epi are kind of boring but as each sister story unfold, it starts to end interesting....

Today, I've completed my last epi for this drama.. and I'm totally disappointed in it.. There are 101 doubts. How the Martin die? What happened to Ko Cheung-Shing 's ex wife, Catherine? What happened to Will and Shek Ta-wor? Who Elise really love?? In the end, the epison only show that the Hong's sister put down all the foes and went back together in the family.. Kind of disappointing!!!

I heard from others that HK's citizens were all complain why the ending is such a disappointment. I do hope that TVB will have another special epi where they will clear all doubts.. Hehe...

He's Just Not That Into You.

Based on a self-help book written by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo concerning the ever-widening gap between genders and the misunderstandings that often arise between couples. In the film, a woman who can't seem to get a firm grip on the men in her life pursues an advice columnist who never quite knew what he wanted in a relationship.

Saw the trailer.. seems like a good show.. Maybe i should catch this movie during my next weekend off!

Mobile Phone Exposure Causes Brain Damage in Rats

A study published today in the online edition of the peer-reviewed journal Environmental Health Perspectives (EHP) found for the first time that electromagnetic fields (EMFs) emitted by certain mobile phones damaged neurons in the brains of rats.

The researchers studied 12- to 26-week-old rats because their developmental age is comparable to that of human teenagers, who are some of the heaviest users of mobile phones. "The situation of the growing brain might deserve special concern," the study authors wrote, "since biological and maturational processes are particularly vulnerable. We cannot exclude that after some decades of often daily use, a whole generation of users may suffer negative effects as early as middle age."

Three groups of rats were exposed for 2 hours to GSM mobile phone EMFs of different strengths. GSM, which stands for Global System for Mobile Communications, is the main standard for mobile phones used in Europe, as well as in many countries in the Middle East and Asia. GSM is one of several standards by which mobile phones in the United States operate.

The study found that EMF exposure was associated with leakage of albumin through the blood-brain barrier and neuronal damage that increased in response to the amount of exposure. The authors acknowledged that the study sample was small, but stated that "the combined results are highly significant and exhibit a clear dose-response relation."

Earlier EMF studies have focused on whether exposure might cause cancer, with some studies finding increased risk but most showing no effects or even decreased risk.

"Scientists have been looking for some time at the possible effects of exposure to the energy coming out of cell phones," says Dr. Jim Burkhart, science editor for Environmental Health Perspectives. "These scientists decided to look in a new place, studying potential nerve damage, rather than cancer growth. Their results suggest a strong need for further study as we all rely on cell phones more and more."

I guess it's almost to the end of the world.. Even when we talk on the phone for too long, will cause brain damage.. No wonder {M} always complain that whenever I talk to the phone with him.. If phones start to give out radiation and causes brain damage, how about computers? Does it have the same effect too??
Being too healthy consciousness mean you will live long and healthier?? Hmm...
