San Francisco Trip (Day 6) Hollywood Road of Fame.

Continue where i left off from my previous post. After having our full rest, we quickly freshen up and embark to visit our next tourist attraction, Hollywood Road of Fame, Kodak Theater and trying to catch a view of the famous Hollywood Sign.

Took many pictures while squatting down.. saw alot of famous names...

Even our Jackie Chan is also in the Hollywood Road of Fame.
We took lots of photos at Kodax, Chinese Theater, and even had California Piazza!! And only few days back than i realize that SG also have CPK - California Piazza Kitchen at forum.. (I hope i remember the name correctly) haha

All the High End Brand Names...
RIP Micheal Jackson...
Our dinner for tonight!
Ordered the BBQ chicken! Yummy

Grumpy and Play alot!

Harry Potter & Cast..

After spending much time in Hollywood, we make our way back to hotel to get our car.. And drive our way back to Griffith Observatory. It's right a the peak of some hill.. At night, the roads are really dark.. But i like it cos when i lift up my head.. i could see the stars so clearly.. Seldom get to see much things in SG.

Its' really cold up there.. Thumbs up for those who can just wear tee shirt and short!!
Nice night view of LA

This will be our last destination for the day.. back to hotel to rest cos tomorrow is another exciting day to view Hollywood Sign, really up close and to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

San Francisco Trip (Day 6) - Off to Los Angeles!

So looking forward to visit LA!! Cos it's a capital of entertainment! Hollywood, Universal Studios, Disneyland are all in LA... thought that i would have trouble falling asleep the day before i depart for LA..

But no problem at all.. cos the night before Mr Li and his friends, together with me when to have a late night movie.. so by the time we reach home and pack our luggage..we were so tired.

Departure from San Jose Airport
Anyway we arrived very early in the morning at San Jose Airport to take our domestic flight to LA. It's just 1h 15mins ride... Domestic flight airplane are really really small and cramp. But for a short journey, whose going to complaint. I would rather pay slightly more for the air fare than to drive 6hrs to LA (From SF).

At the boarding gate waiting for our flight

Once we touch down LAX, we went straight to Hertz to collect our rental car for the week, which i've already prebooked at SG. Collection was a breeze, thanks to the self check in machine. Thought the total cost is quite high because Mr Li is yet to be 25 years old and i didn't have my liscense with me.. so we were charge with a underage fee.. But since we're on vacation so we didn't want such cost to spoilt our mood.

Hertz's bus to bring us to the Hertz Rental Compound

Hire car to ferry us from LA - LV {Mazda 6}
The first destination we made is to LA's Original Farmers Market!! When there to have our lunch and look around.. Alots of food stores, selling exotics foods and organic nuts and fruits too!
LA's Original Farmers Market!!

Penny souvenir

looks yummy!
We had our first lunch at LA... Order Turkish food. Seems quite nice cos there's alot of people queuing up. Following my Singaporean instincts. I think this store must have really delicious food. Next i ordered Clam Chowder soup.. We really miss the clam chowder soup that we had a Fisherman Wharf.
Our lunch for the day...
La's farmers market - clam chowder soup
Mr Li munching at my food!
Overall, my experience at LA's Original Farmers Market is quite an eye opening. Many foods stores and the food that they have are quite unique. Can't seems to find it in SG...
Entrance Wall from my hotel

After a nice lunch, went to the nearest supermarket to purchase some snacks and drinks.. Esp water! I think i can't drink USA water even if it's boil. Anyway the weather at LA is almost the same at SG. It's quite warm but occasionally when the cool wind blow its quite pleasing.

Elvis
Its time for us to check in to our hotel! Was quite pleased with my choice of hotel. Everything looks good and its quite safe too. Thought it's abit small.. but i think it's just nice for the 2 of us.

After checking in, we took a short break cos we are too tired and poor Mr Li who is my driver for the whole trip needs to take his power nap. And after we replenish our energy our fun filled packed evening starts.. It's time to go visit Hollywood's Road of Frame..

Keep an outlook on my San Francisco Trip (Day 6) Part 2

Aches everywhere....

Office workers like me would most likely to encounter backaches and neck aches due to our sitting posture infront of the computers.

All the while i've been having this backache problem, TCM doctor recommended me to do a series of excerise to straighten my spine. Well, at first i did the excerise diligently every night but subsequently at times when im tired or not feeling well, i just fall deep asleep...

After my trip back from States, my backaches starts to get worst and worst.. Till the previous night where my sleeping posture is not very good... my strain my neck!

Poor me, being so uncomfortable for the whole day. Thought that by today i should be getting better...

But my condition still seems to be the same and even worst.. now, my right side of my neck's musscle feel tense!!

Think it's time for me to see the chinese doctor again.. there does my $100...

San Francisco Trip (Day 5)

When i plan this day, it's the most boring of all other days.
As we won't be driving up to San Francisco.. so we went to supermarket shopping!

Er... Weird right? Hahha
Supermarkets in USA is very nice to shop. Unlike those supermarket that we have in SG, the ones in US have everything under 1 roof. From food to electrical items, cosmetics and clothing!

Visited Target and Walmart...

We've also went to Standford University where Mr Li takes his evening classes there to complete this 3rd Yr... The campus's compound is so huge!
Stanford even have their own shopping center where all the branded names stores are. Eg, LV, Tiffany & Co, Coach, Bloomingdale, Macy's, Juciy Couture, Kate Spade, Apple and many more...

I brought my Kate Spade stuffs from here too!! While Mr Li is skulking all the time cos he thinks that i brought too many bags but which ladies don't' own more than 1 purse.

And i even went inside the Apple store to play with Iphone 4!! Wahahahahahahah
I get to touch Iphone 4 even before the actual set is selling in SG!

In order to enjoy California's sun, we went boat peddling..
What makes this day so interesting is.....

A very clever me......locked the car keys inside the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And have to spend US$80 to make a replacement key!!

Our first drive thru... Krispy Kreme
0 trans fat! Wonder how true is it? But when one is on holiday, who cares so much abt calories!

Being a Singaporean

Every year when it's national day.. I always feel soo proud being a Singaporean just watching NDP on TV.

Living in Singapore has it's pros and cons..

Pros
1. Safety
We have the low crime rate..
Police officer are seen patrolling everywhere..

2. Clean
Although we're a small country, our home is always very clean! With lots of greens... =)

3. Best Airport in the world
Our Changi Airport is one of the world class airport in the world. I always feel so happy to be back home whenever i travel cos the airport staffs, no matter how tired they are, will always great you with a small and always work with effectiveness.
I've been to some countries airport where there service is horrible!!

4. Easy Transportation
With the new Circle Line completion, transport to all part of SG won't be difficult

5. Great Education System
Not that i'm super smart but all of foreigner comes to SG to study.. This shows that our education system is real good!!

Cons.
1. Weather
SG is a humid country... Esp during the hottness months, June - July...
I only love year end when it's raining. But after the rain, the weather is still humid.. Make me feel sticky all over...

2. Expensive Housing
With a small country, one must expect that housing is expensive!!

3. High standard of living
We're a competitive country, our inflation rate is even higher than our take home pay! Haiz...

Despite all the complaints, I still love my country, it's my homeland!

Happy Birthday Singapore!!!
