Moon Cakes gets Creative!!

Just few days before the 15th of Aug (base on chinese calandar), Mr Li and I went to Taka Atruim where they have the moon cake fair...

Wanted to buy the Mao Shan Wang Durian moon cake but it's so popular that everything was sold out.. considering on the fact that the price is actually quite costly.. but it's really good. Haiz, perhaps next year, i shall meet Mao Shan Wang again..

Mr Li wanted to buy a unique moon cake for my mother.. (hahahaa... wants to impress her la) so we went around and i found these Jappy brand moon cake. Their flavours are really unique. All in snow skin, they have green tea (mocha) w red bean, golden baked lemon tea, green tea with aricpot. And many more...

And their box is unique too.. in a wooden chest of drawers which i can re-use!! hahaaha
The total cost of the moon cake est $50 +++

So to me, Moon Cake is an expansive food!!!!!! For just 4 pieces and unique box...

Love...

Some famous quotes that I serach while brainstorming for my layout journaling!

Love at first sight is easy to understand; it’s when two people have been looking for each other for a lifetime that it becomes a miracle. By Amy Bloom

A loving heart is the truest wisdom. By Charles Dickens

Have a heart that never hardens, and a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts. By Charles Dickens

Where love rules, there is no will to power; and where power predominates, there love is lacking. The one is the shadow of the other. By Carl Jung

The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed. By Carl Jung

Maybe I could use back some of  these quotes for my next layout!

Classic vs Limited Edition....

I know this is still a very long way to go.. but i still can't decide thought...

Classic design from Love & Co
Limited Edition

It's been 3 yrs since we are together.. we have discuss about our future. But he has yet to pop the question.. Being a traditional guy, he wants a gold ring as wedding band.. but i don't like... I prefer white gold..
When shopping around ION past 2 weeks ago.. and saw this ring..

I thought it's a perfect ring.. cos it has Solitary diamond ring + a gold rose wedding band.. And perfect combination..

So we went in last week, just to take a look and at least know the price.... The whole set for Gold Rose cost about $2.5k.. as we were looking around the shop, the sales girl recommended me the classic design.. and i totally in love with it.. but the cost is also higher too.. Cost us $3.3K and have not include the guy's ring yet..

Hmmm.... i still undecided if one were to ask me which design i prefer.. Kinda love those 2 design...

What is lens hood about?

Ever since you invest in DSLR.. it's a never ending spending money investment... But, i like to think it in this way that memories that i capture are priceless thus, i will still invest but too much cos i still have traveling, shopping (im a kate spade / coach addict) and scrapbooking to fund..

Recently im looking for a zoom lens to accompany my kit lens.. got recommended by my friend..a Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens...
Search around clubsnap forum and realise that some ppl offer lens hood and some ppl dont'..

As Im still quite new to DSLR.. so i google it...

So there is the article from http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Canon-Lenses/Lens-Hoods.aspx

Well, you are not required to use one, but if there are some very good reasons to do so.

So, what good is the hood?

The primary use for a lens hood is to prevent light from hitting the front lens element from the sides - reducing contrast and creating flare. Pictures taken with a lens hood installed will generally have richer colors, deeper saturation.

A secondary use for a lens hood is to protect the lens. The damage prevented can range from a finger-printed front element (a minor inconvenience) to a broken lens (possibly a major expense - and lost pictures). Lens hoods are generally strong and stick out from the lens some distance. Accidental touches and scratches to the front element are reduced simply because the glass is difficult to reach. Some impact protection is gained from having a sacrificial part taking the blow. Of course, ultra wide angle lenses have very short hoods that offer very little protection.

Lens hoods on longer focal length lenses offer some front lens element protection from rain and dust. The hood helps to keep the front element clean and dry. Of course, if your lens is not weather sealed, you should not let it get wet in the first place.

But lens hoods are expensive - and inconvenient. Yes. But your lens was probably much more expensive - and you are shooting with a D-SLR because you want the best possible image quality (not because it was convenient and inexpensive).

A small convenience tip: If the lens hood fits too tightly for your liking, add a little body oil to the threads. Your body oil - from your forehead, nose ... The hood will be much easier to twist on.

Canon L Lens series lenses generally ship with the proper lens hood. Non-L Canon lens hoods generally cost about $25 and are available from many of the retailers on this site.

Get in the habit of always using a lens hood!

Hmmm.. so after reading this, think perharps i should just get the 2nd hand lens that im eyeing online..
Hopefully Im in time to bid for the lens and the transections goes smoothly than i can use it for my next holiday!!

Canon Eos 60D is here!!!!!!!!!!!

I read in some where quite a while ago that Canon is going to release a new camera, Eos 60D to replace the 2 years old 50D..

I was thinking about upgrading to 50D after i master my 1000D.. but right now... 60D has totally caught my eye!
Did a check on Canon's website.. and realise that 60D has already hit our shores.. and it's selling for $1599, body only. Price tag seems to be on a higher side for me... I'm hoping that this price will drop slightly...

Hmm.. Maybe i shall take 1 years time to save and drool / dream over 60D... or another alternative is that i could go to camera rental to try out 60d first.. if my hands is already that itchy.. hahahah

Learning to be carefree...

I have read in some articule about being carefree..
Cheer bear!

At times I do wish that life can be carefree... and that moment only happened when u're at vacation. Do not need to bothered about work, home or any other matters.... Just simply enjoy your holiday!

But reality is cruel... no matter what, we still have to face it. But i learned from this articule a few little ways to being carefree..
  • Learn to accept yourself for who you are and what you look like. That's the most important thing!

  • Smile at those who judge you, if you feel like smiling (but don't fake it). Don't smile broadly as it will look like you want them to know something they don't. Just give a care-free, relaxed, gentle smile - but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to look at them. If people see you happy about something they will gather that you have a lot going for you in your life. It's the little gestures like that mean a lot.

  • Do what you want to do
Love alot bear

Perharps i could learn alittle to being carefree.....

Haiz.. It's almost time for my driving lesson. Have to drag myself there...

San Francisco Trip (Day 9) - Disney Magic

We brought a 2 days pass to Disneyland, Hoping that we're able to complete touring these two parks with 1 day. For California Adventure Park, i cover most of the areas with 1 day mostly because there are quite a number of thrilling rides which i didn't really dare to take!!

Haha.. I'm just a scary cat!! Anyway at Disneyland there, rides are much tamer. And so much bigger than Hongkong's Disneyland. My only regret is that i didn't get a much to take pictures with Woody, Stitch and Pinocchio. Keeping my finger cross, I hoping that i can get to take pictures with these charathers when im going to HK's Disneyland again!! hahaha

Anyway here's the pictures....

And we started our first ride of the day with the vintage Fire-engine Car... It has a big bell and the end of the seat! haha...

I've simply too many photos to share.. so will break my post into many parts..
Once we enter Disneyland, taken pictures with Walt Disney & Mickey, the sleeping beauty castle.. We march straight into Tomorrowland.. Where Buzz Lightyear's ride, Finding Nemo submarine, Autopia and many more....

Buzz Light Year's ride is more of a shooting game.. At the end of the game, they will show you your marks.. and above photo is the score.. Hmm.. i can't remember my score liao but i know Mr Li's score is higher than mine.. Hahhaa, we did this ride in our 1st Disneyland visit in HK, and i scored higher marks than Mr Li.. hahahahahah

Ok.. After this, let go to Finding Nemo..

06 September 2010

My next destination....

will be Hongkong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been almost 2 years since i've last step into Hongkong and i miss the country! Going to plan lots of good makan especially Dim Sum and all the authentic Cha Chen Teng food!! Just all those TVB Drama...

Did my research and found out that many people recommend Mido Cafe in Yaumatei area... And Xu Liu Shan's desserts! Arg.. Im going to start drooling...

And of cos, Fa Yuen Street and Ladies Market.. This time im going to Times Square, Sogo and some trendy shopping malls.. And Disneyland + Hk's only outlet center, Citygates!!!

Counting down to 2mths! Hopefully the weather is cooling enough!

San Franciso Trip (Day 8 Part 2) Adventure at California Park

More pictures in Disney's California Adventure Park. This park has more thrilling rides than in Disneyland. To me, its seems like a more tame version of Universal Studios....

I only spent almost 3/4 of a day in California Adv Park cos there are many thrilling rides which i don't really dare to take. Hahah.. But somehow i've pushed my guts to its limits and took afew thrilling rides.

California Adv Park recently opened a new attraction, The World of Colours!

The World of Color nighttime water spectacular weaves water, color, fire and light into a kaleidoscope of fantasy and imagination. More than 1,000 jets of water form incredible shapes in time to the music as Disney characters come to life on a shimmering veil of mist.

Being in Disneyland compound just makes me feel sooo happy! I can't wait to visit the next disneyland! hahaha

In order to view the new attraction, World of color! We took the fastpass for the 11pm show!!

We took the Grizzy River Ride!!! And we were all dranched!! Shivering in cold, we quickly walk back to our hotel for a quick shower.. and get ready to visit Disney Downtown!

For people who loves thrilling rides, Disney California Adv park is denfinately fun.. But im too timid to try some of the super thrilling rides thus im able to finish touring the park within 3/4 day!

And i can't wait to upload the World of Colors photos... Just one word to explain it all.. Breathtaking~!!
