It's the most Wonderful time of the Year~

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Christmas season is my favorite time of the year! Because I get to shop for legti reasons!
Yeah! And of course, receiving bonuses from work hence I think December is a great month to reward yourself for all the hard work you've done the past year!

As for rewarding myself.. I got myself a brand new tote bag! Hehe ^_^
Remember my previous entry regarding my dilemma between 2 bags. Well, problem solved!

Ta- da!! Say Hello to my new bag!!

Okay.. the photo that I snap using my phone (taken at my office's desk) doesn't do justice to this bag.
So I went to Pinterest to have a better quality image to show.

I've been wanting to get a black classic tote bag for the longest of time. As mention previously,  I've been eyeing on this Vanessa Bruno's sequin tote bag for quite some time.

I remembered checking it out at one of the store at Mandrain Gallery.. The medium size tote cost at $270 ~ $290 plus. That was when I was expecting Dani in mid of 2013.
But somehow I didn't purchased it there n then.

So this Christmas, I decided to purchase this instead of the Givenchy tote shop. Well, cost is a huge factor. Plus I think it's time for me to just go ahead and purchase this sequin that screams "IT's SO FELICIA, JUST BUY ME HOME!".

Super love it!

So this Christmas, our celebration are pretty subtle. Cause this year, we didn't went holiday unlike last year, we went Thailand for Christmas + babymoon.

Managed to had lunch with my gf, S @ Poulet, Bugis +.. to pass her her gift. And then dinner with my brother & hubs with baby Danielle in tow at the Sukiya Resturant @ Bukit Panjang Plaza.

Half Roasted Chicken in Cranberry Sauce
What's Christmas lunch without Dessert!! Their Creme Brulee is da bomb!
Didn't snaps any photo cause throughout the whole dinner time, Danielle is very cranky. Wants to be carried. Guess it's the lack of sleep?!

We dropped by Sengkang area today and checkout our new place. Saw lots of blocks are ready only left 1 or 2 blocks at the back that are still going thru constructions.

Keeping my fingers crossed that we can received the keys between Jan - March 2015!!!

That's all for my boring Christmas celebration.

Happy Holidays!

Christmas wish list!

All I want for Christmas...

is either  a Givenchy Bambi Shopping Tote Bag or Vanessa Bruno Sequin Embellishment bag!!

I've been eyeing on this bag since 2013... I always didn't get myself to purchase it.
The big size is pretty good for me to bring out for work or with Danielle's stuffs.

The price is quite alright.. cost about $300. But.. paying at least hundreds for a bag and ppl won't know that you're carrying a designer bag... makes me abit hesitate to purchase.

But then again, those who know Vanessa Bruno's works will know that I'm carrying her bag..

See... I'm in dilemma.

I popped by Givenchy store at Paragon one day and saw that they have this shopping tote bag on display. I like big tote bag in bucket shape!!

In fact, I've a few bags with similar shapes. But I can foresee that this bag is gonna bring me thru work, yoga and even when I'm out with Danielle.

Cost me $1750 but it's not calfskin.. it's just coated canvas..

I could purchase both and solve the problem but then.. I dun need 2 new bags..

Can't decide.....

Well let's wait till Christmas is nearer than I should decide again.

Too old to celebrate??!

In Nov, I celebrated my 30th birthday and to be honest ever since I hit 26 and above.. all birthday celebrations are quiet affair.

I guess gone were the days where I will party like crazy... nor do I have the energy to stay up till 1am.

So birthday celebrations are just a day to pamper myself with either massage, hair cut or nails treatment. And thereafter a simple dinner with some friends or just with my loves one.

This year, my big "3" celebration is alot more simple...

I just spend the day off to my tummy massage with bottomslim, head out for a session of yoga and head back home to celebrate with hubs and dani girl..

I guess the next and all the birthdays will be celebrated in such manner but I'm not complaining... Cause I simply have this birthday day off! ^_^v

My cake from Chocolate Origin

This year, my birthday celebration got meaningful. Cause this girl is part of my world!
Have a great day!

Our mother & daughter photoshoot with The Studio Loft

I finally can strike off 1 item off our Mother / Daughter bucket list.

  • Photo shoot with Danielle!
Ever since I'm hooked to Pinterest, I've seen many beautiful and precious photos of newborn. So when I delivered Dani and wanted to book a newborn shoot for her.

But.. I'm staying with my in-laws and our place is not ready yet hence it's not very nice to shoot especially when there is space limitation. So I skipped the idea.

When Dani is about 3 mths old, I called a few studio to check out their rates and find that Studio Loft is pretty reasonable. So thought of giving it a try, however they said that Dani's age is either here or there. Too old for newborn shots and too young for the slightly older babies shoot (6 ~7 mths and above).

So I waited and waited and finally during Oct in Baby Market, I signed up the package with Studio Loft.  Which cost me $550 for 1 session of Little Big Shot & CD for all the images back.

And I'm amazed by the results~~~~~

These ladies are really wonderful with babies!! I like to think that they are baby whisper! Hehehe

These are some of my favorite shot!!

Now I'm hoping to convince hubs to join us for the next family portrait!!!

Did I mention that within my package I've 2 - 5 prints out and 3 diamond acrylic block!! Can't wait to receive them!!!

TGIF!!!

Can't wait for the short getaway that hub & me is going soon!

30 is the new 20!

Well... here's the hard truth! I've turn 30 years old this month...
However,in my heart, I still feel like I'm in my late twenties (self denial mode on)..

Guess now is the best time to recap what I've done in my twenties..
  • worked full time and support myself
  • travel to places (I traveled alone from Singapore to States when I was 25~26)
  • got my Diploma
  • got my driving license (pass it on my 2nd attempt)
  • get out of a shitty relationship
  • met an awesome guy (who is my husband now)
  • have the courage to quit my job and look for a better one
  • picked up new hobbies (scrapbook & photography)
  • got engaged & married to my awesome husband
  • reconcile with my late father & know some of my relatives
  • got pregnant
  • become a mother at 29 years old
  • bought our first car
  • bought our first home
I guess each experience in life make me grown a bit wiser.. However out of all these I still have my bad habits. Stuffs like saving money, discipline in attending regular yoga classes, eat healthy and controlling my temper especially when I'm pek chey..

Trying my best to change each bad habits cause I now have a daughter who will look up to me as an example. I definitely do not want her to follow my bad habits.

Having mid week crisis...

Whats like to be a mother?

Now that I'm a mother to Dani.. I often felt guilty for leaving her with a nanny and scoot myself off to work on weekdays. I am also consume with guilt whenever I leave her with the nanny on certain Saturdays while I have that little "Me" time for myself.

Sometime the guilty feeling is super bad especially when its time to fetch Danielle and the moment she sees me, her face lit up with a super bright toothless smile, super excited with her legs kicking and arms lifted up, just can't wait for me to carry her!!

But being a mother brings me indescribable joy when my daughter smile at me the first thing she wakes up. Calls me "mama". The only person that could give her comfort and make her stop crying!

I often wonder if I should switch my full time work to part time? But my dilemma starts... I can't live with myself not having that power of earning a decent pay cheque. I can't see myself, waiting patiently each month for my hub to give me that certain amount for house expenses.

I ever thought of doing things that I love.. I toyed with the idea of being a freelance natural light photographer. But my skills aren't quite there yet. So is my photo editing skills. But there is a soft voice in my heart that says... "Someday, I will do what I love." I do hope that someday I have to courage to work towards my dream!

Oooh.. I've just realised that I'm turning to big 3 in just 2 days time!!! And I managed to do my nails for the first time after I've given birth!!

Uber cute, Mickey & Minnie Mouse gelish nail art!
Managed to take leave on my birthday and I've plan some real leisure treats for myself!!

Right now, its' time for me to hit the sack!

Where did all the time went too??

Looking at the calendar right now.. and its dawn upon me that it's OCTOBER!!!

Can you imagine same time last year.. I'm walking around with my huge belly, Danielle inside snugly and warm in my tummy.

Right now.. she is bubbly, cheeky 8 month old girl.

Just a few more months to go and she will be 1 year old!! Ah~~ mama can't wait for your 1 year old birthday party! * Not that I've anything planned*

Nothing much to plan for the month of October.. as I'm getting slightly busier at work with my high season coming next month.

Went to this years's Baby Market @ Expo from 2 - 5 Oct. I'm really really really impressed that this year fair is soooooo much better to shop.

Out of the 3 visits to Baby Market from Oct'13 - Oct'14. This year is the best. With many improvement. Ques to payment are short and it's pretty fast too if there is a que. Items are all well stocked. Can you imagine that I can get to buy 2 cartons of Merries Diapers and 2 set of Nestle HA 2 milk powder and even bought a star buy Graco Playpen.
Her Children Day gift - Graco Playpen

Merries Diapers. I think I have at least 5 mth supplies here.

Of cause, I've also pre-ordered a Recaro Easy Lift Stroller and 1 carton of Baby Wipes from Japan that claims to be 99.9 purified water wet wipes.

Her very expensive Recaro Stroller which we got it at $499 from the pre order deals.

Oh!! I've also sign up a photography package for Danielle with The Studio Loft. I've been wanting to take some nice shots with Danielle cause it's always me behind the camera and no one is around to help me take nice shot with my daughter.

Selfie with Danielle is almost mission impossible too...

So I think this chance to take a studio shoot with her..
1. Mother and Daughter shoot
2. Pre-celebration for her 1 year old shoot. ^_^

Yeah!! I got the package that includes the CD of all images! Plus I will need to top up extra $15 per head for me to be included in the shoot & $30 surcharge for booking an appointment on a Sat.

I've seen the photos taken by The Studio Loft and I super love it!! I can only hope that Danielle will  be a good girl and let the jie jies / auntie help her take her nice photo!!!!

Counting down to 1 more month for her shoot and gonna hunt some nice props to bring along for the shoot!

Surviving mid week crisis...

Fernvale Lea Progress

The progress at Fernvale Lea is pretty fast... from 2012 when we first check out that place.. its just a bare land...

And now...

Source: Fernvale Lea

Thinking that we might be getting our keys soon so I thought that I might as well get some quotations.

So far.. I only check 1 freelance ID quote. Loved her work.. and it seems that they are a husband and wife team who works as an architects in the day....

Hubs and I are considering to hire contractors or ID... Gotta to research more on these! The Pros and Cons..

But this ID that I checked out her quotes, she is quite transparent as in she does not earn a cut from the contractors. And she will do supervisory works for us but its just once a week.. (Wonder if it's enough??!) And this service applies to contractors from your own contacts.

Of course, just designing works only and other services, the quote sum up to 6K. Is it consider expensive??

As for contractors, I could get some of my friends contacts..

But as of now.. I'm trying to collect the mood board for our house. Pretty excited!

These are some of the designs that we favour and wish to adapt and make some changes to call our own.

I can't wait for HDB to contact for the next appointment and start our renovation journey.

My Short Break in Penang - Day 2

Well, we start this day early because we are planning to explore Penang!!

Penang is a town with rich heritage so and since our stay here is pretty short.. we thought its best that we visit those famous wall murals that artist Ernest Zacharevic has painted on some old building..

I know there quite a few wall murals scattered around Penang but the weather is way too hot for S and I to go hunt for it. So we had our breakfast in the hotel and head out to take a cab and ask the taxi uncle to bring us to the place where all the wall arts are.

Did we mention that their taxi system is also like Bangkok. Taxi uncle don't on meter and you mostly need to bargin or what out the price that they quote you. From what we learnt. if the places you are going are quite nearby, like maybe 10 - 15 drive. They usually quote 12 ringgit. Guess its quite standard unlike BKK... they really chop carrot!

Finally we reached the place and the weather was super super hot! Rented a bike and cycle around. I personnally think that it's a wrong move cause it's very crowed on weekends. Plus the hot weather.. my backside almost got burnt!!!

Finally managed to eat the famous Chendol in penang!!

Had their Brown Sugar beancurd... nothing to shout about..

Honestly the weather is way too hot for me to handle. So quite a couple of times, we head back to our hotel to freshen up and head out to our next destination.

As my luggage is way too small... so my friend and I head out to 1st Ave to purchase another luggage since Silkair allow me 30kg baggage allowance.

Stay on for my next Penang post of FOOD!!

XOXO,
Felicia
