Updates on our lovely abode: Fernvale Lea

Every now and then when we are free, we will always try to visit Fernvale Lea site.

It amazes us on how fast those construction workers are going..

We so excited to see that the first level is up. Can't wait to move in to this area where Mr Lee & I will design and decorate our lovely abode!

Will check out again the process of Fernvale Lea in November!
See ya!

Wedding Preparation: What we have done so far!

We are only down to 2 months & 3 days to our wedding..

Things that we have somewhat settled! But i think there are more to more! I wonder why there are so much stuffs to do for a wedding where all I want is as simple as possible! (-__-")

1) Guest List
We already had our tentatively guest lists when we send out our Save The Date card. We need to compile both our list and see if all the guests are coming.

2) Wedding Invitation - I'm not taking the wedding invitation provided by Amara, so I'll designing my own. And after many changes and amendment. Finally it's done! Mr Lee QC our wedding invite, he loves this design and I'm sending for print this week at Sunshine Plaza. I've already check out 2 stores that does such printing and i think their service are pretty good. So I need to check and ask for their pricing.

Let's have a little peek of my wedding invitation card!

All done with Photoshop.
One of my student assistance told me to use Illustrator or InDesign to design this wedding invite. So happened that my office has the latest software for the Adobe suites but unfortunately I'm not very familiar with the program so I only used Photoshop. I'm hopping that the results printed out will be good!

So after printing this invitation card, I will have to source for red envelopes. One of the printing shop that I went to only have pink colour envelopes which i don't like. I would much prefer red colour. So I shall start sourcing around all popular bookstores to see if they have the size that i wanted for my wedding card.

3) Bridal Car...
Our bridal car for AD will be this White BMW 523I

I found this freelance owner's post on wedding forum... he's prices are so far the most reasonable.
I've been quoted x3 times for the same model, same package hours. Which I think is ridiculous!  If we have our own car, could have save the few hundredth dollars!!

Deposit has been paid. I've yet to view the actual car.. couldn't find any reviews of this freelance driver. But based on this post on the Wedding Forum, he seems to be pretty booked up!

I hope to hear from him again 2-3 weeks before my wedding to discuss on the actual day programs...

4) Meet the Parents.
Surprisingly this is done by the non-traditional way! Only both my mother n MIL meet up. They discuss what both sides of the families wanted. And so it's done!

Recently beside settling on our wedding preps... I've been quite lazy and didn't do much scrappin! So it's on a temp hiatus. But I'm super addicted to watching american dramas!!

Currently I'm watching afew..

stay tune for my next post where I will share more about the tv dramas that I'm watching!

Have a great week!

Bedroom Inspirations

It's also time for us to revamp Mr Lee's room.

Currently his room is fit for a bachelor to stay but it's not fit for a newlywed to stay in. Firstly bed isn't big enough and the Wardrobe isn't big enough to fit both of our clothing.

So it's time to search for inspirations..

I've also fancy a black / grey / white with a hint of pop colours to decorate room.. I've yet to discuss with Mr Lee what kind of colours he will like. But i think he will choose black and white.

Today my mother is having furniture fair at Singapore Expo. So i went there to try out the mattress and managed to choose the mattress and bed frame for Mr Lee's room..

The white simple bedframe

The mattress that we will be sleeping for at least 3 years till our  SK abode is ready.

Beside settled our bed, we also have choosen ur table & chair, waiting for a time when we are both free to go to Ikea to purchase it!

Designer chair from Comfort Design

Desk from Ikea!

Now left with wardrobe... Haiz, going to settle the room one thing at a time! If we purchase everything together is it's going to make us broke!! T_T

Save more money!! No more shopping for me!

Esty is evil!!

I've come across Esty website few years back.

So far I've only make 1 purchase from a esty seller. Which is my guest book thumb print page. They sell it in digital copies so I just need to make payment and after proofing the artworks. Seller will send the work to me and I'm ready to print it at any printing shop!

Esty is really very evil.. it almost tempt me to purchase Bride Hangers. But the shipping fees put me off.
There are many stuffs that I wish I could purchase from Esty..... but i have to resist temptation!!

Until I come across this seller EidelPrecious from esty.. The engagement rings that she is selling is soooooo gorgeous!

The price tag is seems quite reasonable to me for all that big diamonds!

I'm drooling over this rose gold engagement ring

Price range is about $1.8 - $4K. Haven't include shipping fees. But it's quite scary to purchase this off esty shop and have it shipped over. What happened if the package goes missing??!!

That is afew thousands $$ gone...

Anyway.. I was hoping that maybe someday I can get to own this beautiful ring. Perhaps when it's our 10 years wedding anniversary??

Such a long way to go.. I'll be happy if Mr Lee can upgrade my current diamond ring to a 0.8 carrat.(^_^v)

My thoughts...

Time really flies with an blink of an eye!!

I didn't realized that it's coming to the end of Oct.

November is coming in less than a weeks time. November is going to be a busy month for me cos it's also my office's busy period with enrolment coming up. It's my first enrolment period with them and I have no idea how busy or chaotic it will be.

Thus I'm preparing myself for the enrolment both physically and mentally. Let's hope that I can do well in this enrolment, so that my probation can end early!! Hahah (*keeping my fingers cross*)

Beside getting busy at work.. my wedding preparation can come to standstill cos there is nothing much on my side to plan. It's down to Mr Lee side. Like confirm his "brothers", settle wedding live band, clean up his room and purchasing furniture. As for me, I've already 70% confirm my guest list and my bridesmaids  attire has been settled too, let hope that there is no last min changes with the dresses. Gifts for my bridesmaids are also done. All left to do is to collect their corsage and awaits for my Hens' Night!

Oh, my birthday is coming soon too!! This year I will be 28 years old. So let's see what I've accomplished within this year when I'm 27 years!

  1. Pass my driving license
  2. Had changed my job
  3. Took Skyride and luge ride @ Sentosa
  4. Control my shopping urges (Eg, buying bags & shoes)
  5. Have a healthier lifestyle
  6. Curb my spending..
  7. Planning my wedding - my marriage to my best friend (^_^v)
  8. Had my pre wedding photo shoot
  9. DIY my own pre wedding album
  10. Printed my own first photo canvas
  11. Resume back my electone class

And when I'm 28 years old... what I hope to do
  1. Learn something new
  2. Upgrade my camera and practice more to photograph better
  3. Practice my electone and aim to take my Grade 6 exam
  4. Save more $$
  5. Clear off any debts that I have before my next birthday
  6. Be more understanding and have lots patience cos I'm someone's wife soon.
  7. Eat more fruits and vegetables!
  8. Visit a country (which I've never been before) - so that I won't keep going back to Hongkong
I'm so looking forward to this Friday cos it's long weekend!! YEAH!!

It's been awhile since i bring my EOS out for some good shooting, perhaps this weekend is a good chance!

Take Care!!

Handmade with love

As such as my friends around me knows, I love to do crafts and scrapbooks.

So for my wedding i definitely won't miss these details and there are some of the crafts that I've done for my own wedding.

Finally I managed to purchase the wooden hangers with the notch at the side at Daiso (Vivocity) and it comes in a pack of $2. So I got for $2 for 2 wooden hangers!! (^_^v)

I've been drooling over those wired personalized hangers that Esty stores are selling. But a pity, because they are station in USA and the shipping fees to international is charged quite high. At least S$25, same as the hanger price.

That's the reason why I'm very relented to order. Almost a $45 hanger with my names. That's propably gonna for 1 shot in my whole actual day wedding photography. I give it a missed and decide to DIY myself.

I intially wanted to use my crystals and stick Mr Lee & Mrs Lee on the respective hangers but my crystals size are too small. So luckily I had a pack of new font stickers that has glitter on it. And viola!

Beside the bracelet corsages that I've ordered for my bridesmaids.. these are the ikea frames that I've altered for them. It's pretty simple and not so fancy cos I'm not use if there are gonna like it. I've total of 6 bridesmaid which 3 will help me out in the morning and 3 in the evening.

These pinwheels are meant for my guest tables. Each pinwheel will indicate my guest's name for will be placed at the tables that they are seated at. Cos I'll be having at least 80 guests.. so I will need my bridesmaids help!

At the same time we can plan to have some girly chat! (^_^v)

I got this inspired by Pinterest!! I'm so into pinterest esp the wedding section. Really gives me alot of idea to deco my wedding venue!

Currently it's down to 2 months and 10 days to my wedding!!

Our little Date

It's so rare that we can go on a whole day date because Mr Lee is always teaching on weekends. So I don't have to work on weekends.

So our dating time is always weekdays evening where I'll meet Mr Lee for awhile for dinner... or Friday / Saturday night sleep over.

Yesterday, Mr Lee needs to attend a guitar masterclass and guitar concert in the evening so he canceled his class thus we have the whole day to date.

Received my new keys - keys to Mr Lee's house
Yesteday Mr Lee's mother made me another set of keys to their house. Cos when I sleep over and the next day when Mr Lee have to teach, he will leave his keys with me and I have to hide it somewhere near this front door. Now I don't have to!! =)

We were walking around Marina Square / Esplanade area cos Mr Lee attended a guitar masterclass with a Japanese guitarist from Yamaha Japan. So while he attends the class, I had a good chat with my ex colleagues and teachers..

We eat and play arcade, do a little window shopping... and head out to Esplanade outdoors to chill and enjoy the weather.. it was nice cos the clouds seems dark and cloudy... just before it starts to rain super heavy, we went back inside to Esplanade.

I'm not very familar with guitar music but seeing Tommy Emmanuel playing and Mr Lee draws inspirations from Tommy & Martin Taylor... I feel bliss cos I'll always have beautiful music surrounding me..

One of the perks to be married to a musician! (^_^v)

Have a great weekend!

Quote of the day

Many couples who are planning their wedding at certain point of time will get frustrated with each other. Be a guest lists, budgets, flower decoration. Marriage will only work if 2 ppl willing to compromise.

I may have my argument with Mr Lee. But I try not to take things for granted. He has given me alot of things that I want for this wedding thus I decided not to neglect him and asked him to inform Pastor Amos to have prayers including during our solemnization.

I may not be a christian and I know that at this point of time I won't change my faith. Since Mr Lee can't have a church wedding and I can give him this bit.

No harm done. We will have double the blessings. From our parents and God.

Did I also mention that I'm so full of love for Mr Lee? Heheheh..

Weekend is coming! (^_^v)

S.T.R.E.S.S

Planning a wedding is seriously a very stressful event. I salute wedding planners!! How can they handle weddings and bridezilla almost every other day!

Last weekend, we met up with Mr Lee's pastor.. Pastor Amos from Care Community Church to be our JP on our solemnization. I'm not sure of other JPs, but Pastor Amos "sort of" asked us to go for a brief marriage preparation course.

To him, wedding is just an event. But marriage is for life so basically the course that he suggested us to do was a 150 questionnaires. Both couple have to answer separately and than a report will be churn out. Than from there, he will see which area we are low at, (eg, communication, budgeting... etc) and help us on it. All these for a low sum of $30. But we have yet to do the questionnaires yet. sooo... let's see how.

Meyson Jewellery - where we purchase our wedding bands!

Over the weekends, we also bought out wedding bands! I finally found one ring that can match with my engagement ring very well! And luckily we purchase it early, cos Mr Lee's finger is on a smaller size thus they don't have ready stock and need to resize. So I'm waiting for them to contact me to collect his ring.. I'm so in love with my wedding ring and Mr Lee likes his too..

I'm still waiting for my pre wedding album to arrive.... should received it by tomorrow! Hopefully everything is good as the proof that i saw... *keeping my finger cross*

I've settled my bridesmaid bracelet corsages! Order the corsages from Le FairyMedow. Her works are beautiful! Waiting to see the end product by end of this month! (^_^v)
It will also be part of my gift to them for helping me on my big day! Without my gfs around, I think I will go crazy with so much planning to do.. Le Fairymedow lets you customize your corsages so mine doesn't look like this but similar!

Of cos, the groomsmen.. I DIY their boutonnieres! In bright cheerful colours to match the bridesmaid's dresses..

Went to Chinatown today to purchase the back pin to glue to the boutonnieres...
Can't wait to pass it to the guys! Haha...

So my next project will my DIY flowers for reception tables and also DIY gifts for all of my bridesmaids!

Taking as much chance to scrap and altered art to destress!!

Wedding Preparation: March In Song

March in song to some brides means alot and to some it's just a song.. but to me, it's quite meaningful!

Initially I wanted to march in to Christine's " A Thousand Years".

I know that this song is written for Edward & Bella's wedding scene in Twlight. I feel that the lyrics is very touching but some how Mr Lee don't like! So I have to search for another song.

And the next song that came to me is "The Look of Love"

The look of love
Is in your eyes
The look your heart can't disguise
The look of love
Is saying so much more
Than just words could ever say
And what my heart has heard
Well it takes my breath away

I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you

You've got the look of love
It's on your face
A look that time can't erase
Be mine tonight
Let this be just the start
Of so many nights like this
Let's take a lover's vow
And then seal it with a kiss

I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
Don't ever go

I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
Don't ever go
Don't ever go
I love you so

There are so many versions of this song but I wanted a really jazzy feel so i decided on this! I can't wait to hear this song being played during the sound check and also on the actual day!

Photo Canvas

After we got our photos from Melody of Oh,dear! Photography..

We have been deciding which photo to blow up and print as canvas. After much thought, we decided to print the one that we took at Garden By the Bay.. I search online for many canvas print shop and found Brilliant Print. They have this guareente that if you change your mind, you can change to print another photo without additional cost!

Brilliant Print is so efficient too, I received my canvas within 3 working days after i placed my order! Thumb up!

I super love this picture! Somehow Melody managed to capture our blissful love.

Another picture that I super love is the one that we took at the Falls inside cloud forest... so i decided to print it out as 8r size photo, but somehow the photo couldn't fit the frame. And I happened to stubble upon a diy blog that has a post on DIY photo canvas!

I bought a 8'x10' canvas from Spotlight and Modge Podge glue (matte)...

Steps to do

1) paint modge podge glue thinly on the canvas
2) paint modege podge glue on the photo, place it on the canvas and smooth it to ensure that there is no air bubbles.
3) paint modge podge to the side of the canvas, wait for it to dry and paint black paint to paint.
4) Need at least 2-3 coats of black paint.
5) thinly apply glue to the photo. It will gives a a matte look. Can skip this step if you fancy, gloss look.

Now I have another photo canvas to place it at my reception table!
