Signed & Sealed!

Last Monday, Mr Lee and I went down to HDB for our 2nd appointment!!

Our flat is finally half secured! Paid the 5% down payment + all the legal fees and charges. No a single cent is fork out cos we paid everything from our CPF. Quite heart pain to see 10K each deducted from our CPF account.. took us at least a few years of contributions to accumulate 10K inside our CPF account.

But nevertheless, we are still happy that at least we can tick 1 stuffs off our checklist!
So now it's time to settle our wedding!

Supposedly we wanted a Sept 2013 wedding but Mr Lee says why not we bring it forward since both our parents thinks that this Dragon year is good for marriage.

So we have to fast forward all our bookings and stuffs.

Many things to confirm...

1) Photography - 98% One Eye Click

I just need to email to them which photographer that I want and make the 50% deposit. So I already have my answer. Waiting for Mr Lee to give me the green light to make the deposit.

Check their works, they are really good! One Eye Click - Julien

Another wedding photographer that I was hoping to hire was Lighted pixel pixies but too bad none of their photographers are available on my wedding date!

Check out their works: http://lightedpixelspixies.com/

2) Videography

We didn't want to spend so much money on videography... cos we both think that we won't view the video so often. So we might not get any videographer but maybe get a friend to tape it down on a HD camera video + Tripod.

3) Hotel Venue - 99% Amara Sancentury Resort

Source: thepleasuremonger

We have view to go down tgt to view the venue but looking at other wedding couples photos from the place. We fall in love with the Glass Pavillion. I really hope that the date that we wanted is still available for our wedding dinner. And Mr Lee have to arrange his schedule so that we can both go view the place and place our deposit!

4) Wedding cars

From Volkswedding
I have no idea which to book? Mr Lee says that he's going to settled this. Boys & their cars. They know better. But secretly I hope to have this vintage car for my actual day wedding. But the price is quite steep!

5) Wedding bands

We haven't got the time to shop of our wedding bands together. Mr Lee says to wait till the date is nearer than we purchase. So maybe we will get it done by Sept / Oct.

=====================================================================
Besides all the wedding stuffs...

I've completed my wedding props which I can reuse it again on my actual day!

Paper rosette

And I've also started to continue my crystal & pearl hand bouquet... Till date I've only twisted 280 wireds with crystals. My idea number will be 350 - 400. So there's alot more to go! I need to Jia you!!

Next project for my DIY wedding will be photo frames! But i can't do it until I received my pre wedding photos! So there 1 mth for me to rest!

Goodies box : July Bella Box

Since I heard of this bellabox that sends 5 make-up or skincare goodies for you to try out!
I'm tempted to try out immediately but it wasn't until July that I start to subscribe.

See what I received!! All these goodies for just s$19.95 per month and its courier service all the way to my door steps! (^_^V)

So this month, I was surprised to received the mini goodies from SKII. I tried it before when I was in my early twenties.. but then it wasn't suitable for my skin.. After so many years, and now that I'm older... I thought of trying their products again. Partly because of my upcoming wedding preparation, so stressful that my skin isn't taking it so well!

Another rave is the orange thingy.. it's a hair twist! I recently just rebonded my hair, couldn't tied it cos in case it will leave a dent on my hair. But with the weather so hot and humid, this hair twist come in handy! No dent on my hair and it doesn't loosen very easily!

I think I shall continue my subscription with bellabox. And I was thinking that this bellabox is also a very good idea for my bridemaids gifts!! So now I don't have to headache what gifts to give my bridemaids! (^_^v)

Kelly Clarkson - Stronger

I love the lyrics!!!

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!! Yes!
Keep that fighting spirit!

You know the bed feels warmer
Sleeping here alone
You know I dream in color
And do the things I want

You think you've got the best of me
Think you've had enough the last laugh
Bet you think that everything good is gone
Think you left me broken down
Think that I'd come running back
Baby, you don't know me, 'cause you're dead wrong

Chorus:
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone
What doesn't kill you makes you fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn't mean I'm over 'cause you're gone

Bridge:
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stronger
Just me, myself and I
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone
They told you I was moving on, over you

You didn't think that I'd come back
I'd come back swinging
You tried to break me, but you see

Chorus:
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone
What doesn't kill you makes you fighter
Footsteps even lighter
Doesn't mean I'm over 'cause you're gone

Bridge:
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, stronger
Just me, myself and I
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger
Stand a little taller
Doesn't mean I'm lonely when I'm alone

Thanks to you I got a new thing started
Thanks to you I'm not the broken-hearted
Thanks to you I'm finally thinking 'bout me
You know in the end the day you left is just my beginning
In the end
[Repeat chorus][Repeat bridge x2]

I'm not alone

Wedding...

This is going to be a all words post..

Recently I've been to few of our my choice hotels for site visit ...

1) Royal Plaza on Scotts
2) Changi Village
3) Amara Singapore
4) Amara Sanctuary

The first 2, I've seen the place. Suits our criteria of small and cosy. As we don't have big families, so our guest list will only be around 80 paxs. At first, I thought that we I should have a wedding dinner banquet because an 8 course dinner, normally looks more grand and ppl are more willing to give about more in terms of ang bao $$~~ Hahaha.. I know... not all wedding dinners are loss profit. I'm not looking for profit gain but at least not a very huge loss..

*Above pictures are taken during GCW wedding showcase*

So I went to Concord Hotel & Grand Copthorne Waterfront looking for min 10 tables wedding banquet + solemnizations. Concord hotel - it's strike off the list cos I don't the solemnization area, its within the wedding banquet hall in 1 small rooms. Not view cos no windows.

Grand Copthorne Waterfront. Love the solemnization area, the banquet area is good, nice and grand.. but location is bad and it's abit out of our budget. So shelf it..

So we decided to stick to buffet dinner instead... thus the 4 hotels listed.

1) Royal Plaza on Scotts
Nice and Cosy area
@ Orchard Area
Only 1 ballroom or function hall to dine indoor
Only do buffet - and the food is from Carousel (Halal)
Poolside solemnization
Bridal Suite - i didn't get to see the room cos during my site visit, according the event co-ordinator it's their high season.
Price else, it's NETT price. @ $110 - $140 per pax
Min 90 pax
Give alot of wedding stationeries
Food tasting @ Carousel (Lunch or Dinner) depending on your package

2) Changi Village Hotel
Very nice and windy - near to the sea
@ at very ulu area - esp for guests who stay at North, West or South
Small & cosy area.
2 very nice poolside (The deck or Creek)
Expensive - esp when you want your solemnization outdoor and dine indoor, you pay extra 1.5K ++.
No food tasting
No FOC Helpers Room (if you want, it's chargeable)
No free flow of beer ( charge per barrel @$650++)
Car park space - really really small!

As for Amara Singapore & Sentosa, I've yet to do a site visit yet. But I'm hoping that Sentosa will steal my breath away for the Glass Pavilion is stunning! And many ppl rave about the place & food.

Anyway we tentatively set our wedding date same as Mr Lee's birthday... My mother came to know about it and ask how did we have this date. I just say it's either my birthday, Mr Lee's birthday, our proposal date or our first anniversary date. My mother said, No! Wedding is something very important in ones' life. You have to make sure that the date you choose is good. Better be safe than sorry. Though Mr Lee & myself aren't superstitious but in order to appease my mother. I asked her to calculate a "GOOD" date for me.

Hopefully we can get one soon!

Bridal hand bouquet

As I'm a a la cart bride.. there won't be any props or flower bouquet for my upcoming Pre wedding photoshoot. So everything I have to prepare myself!

I went around asking for flowerist for quotes.. mostly around $120 - $150 for 6 to 8 stalks of flower.
At that point of time, I was look for either Gebarra, rose or peony flowers. Kinda of expensive and it will be just for 1 day (3hours) for the photoshoot!!

So I explored my options.. my crystal bouquet couldn't be done in time for the photo and I want this crystal bouquet for my usage during the Actual Day... so i went to Google and search other alternatives...

Come back with many ideas like:

- Felt flowers (really cute and bright colours)
- Vintage brooches (Sweet! Something new, something borrowed)
- Crystal (which im diy-ing for my AD)
- Paper Flower (Why didn't i think about this?)

Yup!! Why didn't i think about it! Paper Flower!

Ok, In Singapore such unique ideas.. no one will sell so you have to DIY.. But I haven't really explore how to do a paper flower bouquets, search at Esty website! I got my answer. Almost the same price as fresh flowers but paper flowers are going to last a long time.

Esty: Paper Flower Bouquet

Wondering if i should get it! Should take ard 2-4 weeks to create one & 10 - 14 days to deliver.
Hmm....

Got to really decide!

Utada - Come Back To Me

I didn't know the title of this song but the melody line just keep repeating in my mind.

Maybe it's because when I go shopping, i keep hearing this song on their playlist.

Utada used to be my favourite Jap singer.. Remember "First Love"? Didn't know that she started to sing english song...

Anyway it's here for you all to enjoy!

Ten Commandments of Love..

I saw from someone's facebook that her jie mei created a board of Ten Commandments of Love for the groom to sign when he did his gatecrash..

Thought that it's interesting!! Maybe I should do 1 for myself too!! Hehehe...

Not quite sure what are the Ten Commandments really is.. cos I'm not christen.. But I went to my good friend, Google to check out. I know it's orgin from bible. But I search of Ten Commandments of Love.
And all I can get is some singer's lyrics. Which I think it's good enough.. Hahahah
Anyway my wedding is next year. So I have more than enough time to really think about it and what I would like to improvise. ^^

  1. Give 100% of yourself at all times
  2. Treat your partner as the unique individual that he/she truly is.
  3. Stay connected through your word and actions
  4. Accept change and support growth in both yourself and your partner
  5. Live your love.
  6. Share the love, fear, work and play
  7. Listen to your mate
  8. Honor the subtle wisdom of the heart and listen to the powerful insights of the mind.
  9. Do not be a jerk or a nag
  10. Integrate the purity of spiritual love with the passion of physical love and the power of emotional love
Seem pretty comprehensive...

Good idea for me to create one... Hahaha!! Anyway I still have a long way to go.....
At least 1 year to plan, think, create!

So recently with my new job change, I have more time on hand... mainly because Im still very new at my job and currently it's the low season.. thus I have more relax time and "ME" time on weekends!

So I SCRAP!! I have been scrapping lots recently because I didn't snap more photos lately. Both Mr Lee & I are pretty busy... and I haven got the time to print out my photos and partly because my selphy printer ink is running out so I didn't replenish it yet! Soon.... cos I'll be attending wedding showcase and hotel site visit for potential wedding venue. Might even do a layout on my resource trip..

Disneyland @ Anahim

My BFF @ Work.. we have known each other for 8 years & still counting!
Soon I'll be shifting to stay with Mr Lee... i'm slowing clearing away my papers and use up as much scrapping materials I have right now. I can imagine the headache I'll encounter when I'm ready to shift.

Better not think of it yet..

Have a great weekend ahead!!

Whatz up recently!!

I've started my new job for almost 1 week... I can stay all things are good..
I'm still taking baby steps in my learning process and I hope that I can absorb as much as I can..
Lunch at Sunshine Plaza

My little work corner.. kinda small n cramp!

Interesting doodle on wall

The powerful coffee that keeps me awake!

Initially I thought that I made a wrong move to resign from my comfortable zone and venture into something new and different. But seems like I'm slowly adapting to my new environment. Only bad point here is that I don't have alot of lunch kakis.. So most of the time, I might have to lunch alone. So poor thing right??! But then again, I appreciated this "ME" time that i have during lunch. I can go window shopping, sit and read my book or just ran some quick errands.

Like people say... change is the only constant. ^_^v

July is here.. Next month, I'll going to Sattine to choose my outdoor gown! =)
Really can't wait for my pre weds photoshoot with Oh! Dear Photography in Sept...

I've already short listed a few places that I would want to have my outdoor shoot!

  1. Garden by the Bay
  2. Hort Park
  3. Armenian Church
  4. Sentosa
  5. Changi Village Hotel - Poolside
  6. Dempsey Area
  7. Old School Delights Restaurant
  8. Plaza Singapura (after it's renovation)

Out of the 8 venues, I can only choose 2 outdoor scene. So I can't really decide where.
But Garden by the Bay is definitively in the list. Too bad we weren't one of the first few couples to shoot in this beautiful garden.. Hehhe. Hear that a newspaper actually published an article on the first couple that went there for the pre wed shoots when the Garden first open her doors to public.

Beside deciding the photoshoot venue, I also have a list of pops to prepare...

  • Checkers floor mat
  • Bubbles
  • Balloons (at least 12 pcs, filled with helium)
  • Danbo & mini banbo
  • Poloriods cameras + my holga or diana F+ camera
  • Scrabble tiles
  • Chalkboard + chalks
  • Colourful windmill
  • Typo Letters of our name.
Seems like alot of stuffs to bring. I was thinking to choose either bubbles or balloons. It's not easy to find a party shop to help me fill the balloons with helium and I have to do it on the photoshoot day, can't do it earlier.

Recently I found out the Spotlight sells this helium balloon kit for S$59.95. I was so tempted to purchase, but my friend, S says that she can help me fill the balloons with helium as her office have the helium tank! Best part is, the balloons can stay afloat for aleast 2 days.

Hmmm... got to sit down and discuss with Mr Lee.. What kind of style and what items we're going to bring for the pre weds photoshoot.

Counting down to 1st Sept! ^^

Felicia

Bridal Hairstyles

Was on my way to work... so to quell the anxious feeling of working in a new environment, I try to do something that I'm familiar with!
I've been researching on bridal hairstyles so that when it's my pre wed photo shoot I'm able to tell the makeup artist my preferred styles.
Somehow when I'm typing this post, my anxious feeling just disappeared. So I guess I need time to adapt to my new environment n pick things up really fast!
