Something that I'm looking forward!

This December, Lee Family is going to Bali for our first family vacation!

I'm pretty excited cause we have been to Bali during our honeymoon and now we are going back 2 years later with Baby D.

Saw the Groupon was having a deal on the villa that we used to stay during our honeymoon and we decided to purchase it and revisit the villa again!

Villa Kayu Raja
This time round we are planning to stay at Bali for 4D3N.. make sure of the time there to visit some "must visit" places.

  • Ubud Art Market
  • Rice Fields
  • Tanah Lot
  • Kintamani Tour
  • Jimbaran seafood

Recently I've been checking the weather forecast and was quite disappointed to see that "Thunderstorm".. also daily!

Let's hope that when the Lee Family are there.. the weather will be nice enough for us to stroll along the streets and visit those attractions!!

It's out first time bringing Baby D who is 22 months old on an overseas trip!! I feel like packing the whole house along!! Pretty paranoid that her diapers and formula milk are not enough for this trip!

Now I have to pen those itineraries and also Baby D's luggage packing list!

In case I'm too lazy to pen my next blog before Christmas..

Wishing one and all a very Happy Holidays!!

Now I know

It's been 20 months since I'm a mother. I have my share of ups and downs... and I'm sure this feeling of motherhood will last me a long long time.. but it's only recently, in fact this week that the meaning of Motherhood hits me hard.

All these while Baby D maybe a stubborn girl but still she is a happy girl.. a bit of reasoning, a bit of bribing, she will still listen to us. But this week, she caught the flu virus bad and it isn't her first time that she caught it.

It was so bad that she had high fever.. the moment baby D has high fever, all she wants is just Mama. I can't leave her sight to make milk nor prepare the medicine. It seems that only my presence can calm her.. my voice can sooth her and my hugs and kisses can heal her.

It is this notation that makes me think that Motherhood is really wonderful. I'm still in awe that this little human being is soo independent and yet so dependant on Mama. How long will baby D be dependant on me till? All these will go away the moment she has grown up. Some day it will reach to point when my voice can't sooth her nor my hugs and kisses has magical kisses.

I may complain that I dun have time for myself and it is tough to juggle between a wife, full time working adult and a mother.

Babies dun keep. I'm just gonna increase my patience level and enjoy this journey!

Friendship

As I grow older, got married and have a family. I wonder if I will still have my friends with me?

I not the kind of person who have alots of friends.. those who I called good friends (aka sisters kinds) are just a handful. I'm thankful that I have 2 good sisters whom I've been contacting since Secondary School days.. they are my oldest friends.

Next batch of friends are the ones that I've made during my working days. These group of girls are the only ones who are I really hang out with and meet up often. But recently I felt that one of them have fall out of grid.. Felt sad that best friends has become strangers.

Well, life still lives on. At least now I know who are my true friends.

Motherhood vs Just Me?

Now that I'm a mother.. I can start to feel the difference when I'm single and when I have a toddler on my hip.

Things are different. My weekends are spent mothering that little human that I've created. I spent time playing with her, bringing her out and do some mother daughter bonding.
Time actually flies when you're out.. well for my case cause my in law place isn't really baby proof and D is super curious that she will touch EVERYTHING! (Itchy fingers and itchy backside cause she can't sit still)

Trust me, I love our weekends like this. But at times, I just wish have a day to myself to do things that I want.. Stuffs like, going for yoga classes, manicure / pedicures, going to hair salon to get my hair done and etc. I'm able to do these "my errands" on weekdays which means that I will need to apply leave.

This year.. a big bulk of my leave went to house renovations. I need to take leave here and there to ensure that delivery is on time, to check out works are done according to our preferences and etc. This leave me with having to think carefully whenever I wanna apply leave to run my own errands.

I just wish that I can split myself into two.

Home Renovation {Part 4 - Handover & Home Styling}

Our renovation has finally come to an end!! We were pretty excitied when our contractors are ready to handover our place!

Our Living Room. We super love the IKEA Chair & our mini Sofa! They are sooo comfortable!

Kitchen area.
Super loving the komplacpus top!

Shoe Rack @ the entrance.

Study Room

Kids Room

Finally purchased our TV!

More pictures to come and these are just the initial stage where we start to do our decorating!

We have unofficially moved it.. well maybe just the weekends only. More like a staycation house!

Thus far.. all carpentry stuffs works fine (In terms of cupboard, drawers etc). Both my parent in laws claims that our contractors did a pretty good job.

The only spoiler is our aircon! Damn it!! Firstly aircon was not cool at all.. got the Panasonic guys to check and realize that the condenser gas is leaking. So the aircon contractor got this team down to repair and that was 3 weeks ago.

Last week, again the aircon isn't working! Not cold at all.. have to get them to come down to service.
And they even have the cheek to say to me that hopefully this is the last time they service our aircon!! Wah lau!! In the first place, if you do a good job, you don't have to come down to my place numerous time!

More furniture are coming in this weekend so take the chance to tidy the house and post up more pictures!

Have a great weekend and make a wise choice during Polling Day!!

Home Renovation {Part 3 - Carpentry Works}

So here's a little update on my house renovation.

We are pretty happy with the outcome! Finally we have a home to call our own.
A heaven for us to return..

Carpentry works are up for the whole house as well as lightings that we purchased from Taobao.
It really pay off to read the reviews of the items carefully. Cause those lights that we carefully purchased are of good quality.

When I first know about Kompacplus, I tell myself.. I'm so gonna do this for my place and there is my dream come true.

I love the woody grains and how sleek the kitchen top looks.

It's really a pity that due to space constraint we couldn't do a mini walk in wardrobe. Cause it's my dream to have one! But still, this is good enough.. And I think I make a pretty good choice to have 2 different laminates  shades together!

Another piece of work that my contractors did for me that I super love!

We are pretty happy with the workmanship from Mr J&E. You can see that the quality is there. We have no complaints about this duo! Thumbs up!
Though Mr E is the only project manager and they have at least over 10 projects on hand thus a little reminder as and well is required.

And right now, they have handover the flat to us. So we can't wait to start decorating and move in real soon!!

See ya next time!

Friendship

For me, all along I dun have much friends. Those friends that I'm constantly in touch with are the ones I truly called Friends.

Friendship are also a test of time. After sometime.. Friends get distance away to the point where they only contact you when they needed your help. Now I have become "friends with benefits"?

So I wondered why did I bother to send occasional tects to see how are you and stuffs. But the other party just never send those kind of text and yet can find excuses. Saying things like, they are busy with work, kids and stuffs.

Hello.. Don't I have to work and have a kid? So if I can spare that little moment to text you.. Why can't you?

Bottom line.. If they truly treat you as a friend. They will always send a text as and when just so you know that you were on their mind. That they value this friendship.

Vanity Me

Life has been pretty busy for me. I am just done with "hellweek" from work as the new intake commences.

Renovation are on going and thankfully my contractors are pretty responsible so I didn't have to bother much. It's the nitty gritty things that I need to co-ordinate. Eg, Deliveries of appliances etc..

So recently I managed to sneak out abit of time to get my hair done!! I've always always like to have perm hair.. but somehow the normal perm technology always make me look so auntie!!
So now that they have Volume Re bonding + Setting!!! I have been itching to try out since my last failed perm during my confinement last year. Did my homework and head down to the salon for my volume re bonding.

my failed perm hair in 2014. Makes me look like an auntie

After 3 hours later...

My Volume Re-bonding + S curl Perm

Somehow the hair stylist did a good job in blow dying my hair and that I left the salon with a smile on my face cause finally I get the perm that I wan!!!

3 days later when I tried to blow dry my hair.. I just can't get the same effect as above.
Somehow it seems alot more curlier... and of course the ends of my hair is very dry!! I'm dying to squeeze out time to head back to the salon for their hair manicure treatment.

In case you're wondering where I did my hair...
Cost me $320 for my hair length and I top up another $50 for a normal treatment.

Didn't get a chance to take a snapshot of their pricing.. should do that when I'm back again for the Hair Manicure + color.

Got it done at Hairplus Salon @ Far East Plaza.
It's really a Korean hair salon as all the stylist and even the receptionist are Korean.

Mr & Mrs Lee : Our next milestone {Lee Family @ Fernvale Lea}

After a long wait for 3 years, we finally collected the keys to our flat in March!

We reached at least 30 mins prior to our appointment and went to straight up to pay our fire insurance at leavel 2 and then, went downstairs to get a que number.

So once our que no is being called, we quickly went in, settled down and sign my CPF savings away to finance the HDB loan.. there, within 5 mins, I'm a HDB slave for the next 25 years.

Upon our key collections, one will need to make payment for the SC charges of $50++ at level 3 and then went down to level 2 to make an appointment to switch our power supply.

Straight after all the paperworks are done.. we drove to our flat. Super super excited!! Finally step foot to our flat!

Since hubs is a Christian hence no pineapple throwing or anything.. He just said a simple prayer and we both enter the house. Though I hang a small cross on the window ledge... God bless this house.

Our small abode (4 room flat)

So after collecting the keys to our home, we went to make an appointment for SP (Singapore Powers) to activate our electrical and water supply. So we can go up at night when lights and all.

Next would be to meet up with the shortlisted contractors & Interior Designers.

These are my shortlisted list

  • Mr K from H2O Renovation
  • Mr J & E from Chun Xiang Renovation
  • Butterpaper Studio
  • Rezt & Relax

MR K - H20 Renovation

Mr K seems like a man of a few words. He basically just took down some measurement and didn't even write down what we wanted. Didn't give much input on space planning. But the quotation that we received has almost 80% of what we wanted. However I feel that his quote was kinda sloppy. Looks like he took someone else quote and just edit here and there. There is even 1 or 2 items that was listed but not what I required. Hmm... anyway his quote is 30K hence I need to drop him

Mr J & Mr E

A small team of 3 man (Including Mr J & Mr E) came by.. told them what we wanted and was quite impressed that Mr J could immediately sketch out the kitchen layout for me. They also gave me afew suggestion. Quite responsive when we asked for a 2nd revise quote.

Quote was within my budget.

Butterpaper Studio

A husband and wife team who are architect during the day. I love love love their works and right from the start, I was very very keen to hire them to do the renovations. However their quote (as base on the past works) came out to be 45K. That's way above our budget so I guess... they kinda drop us instead of the other way round..

Rezt & Relax

An ID was recommended by my gf and he happens to be our school mate. Though I have to recollection of him. So anyway, 1 week has past and I have yet to receive his quote and drawings soo... He did mention that my budget of $25 - 27k is pretty tight based on the items that I want.

So I wonder if he is going to drop me either??

Anyway, after much discussion with Mr Lee.. We have decided to go with contractor so we are gonna schedule a final meet up and place the deposit. Hope they do remember us and schedule a meeting soon!

Will blog more when things are confirm again! Gonna be a busy mama this period of time.

Remembering LKY

This day, Singapore has lost her Founding Father. It's sad to hear that Mr Lee Kuan Yew has passed away.

Thank you for giving us a safe and green country. A safe place where we call our HOME. A good education system which benefit all Singaporeans. No enough thanks can express the appreciation we have. For the red passport that we hold, brings us to lots of places without applying for Visa. A 3rd world country to 1st world country..

He has fought the good fight. He has completed the race. His legacy will live on to our younger generation.

May we remember this day and honor him for the sacrifices that he made in order to provide a better life for all Singaporeans.

Love,
Felicia

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

It's eve of Chinese New Year!

Am excited to spend our 2nd CNY together with Danielle.

Last year during CNY, she was just a newborn and now this baby girl is ONE year old.
Damn chatty and she know how to do the "gong xi gong xi".

Didn't have much to prep for CNY as I'm still living with my in laws.. and partly because I'm too lazy to pack anything when our space is so limited and yet have so much stuffs.

But I am also super excited to received news from HDB that I can collect our home keys in March 2015!!!!!!

I seriously can't wait to have my own place... a place that I can really call my own..

Now it's time for me to feast and spend lots of quality time with my family and loves one.

After CNY, am going to start looking for ID / contractors!!

So here a Happy Chinese New Year to all..

11 February 2015

My favourite past time.. TV DRAMA Serial!

As I grow older.. I realized that many of my habits and hobbies has changed.

Before I got married, I need to read novel before I sleep. That's the only way for me to unwind and relax. However it's pretty bad on the eyesight..

And when I got married, it's bit difficult for me to read cause I don't have a bedside lamp. And me, being lazy.. didn't want to get up when I'm all cosy and comfortable on bed.. So i switch to watching HK & US tv drama!

But recently, you see me watching alot more US dramas! So here are some of my favorite!!!

Synopsis:
Dr. Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd) is a New York City medical examiner who studies the dead for criminal cases, and to solve the mystery of his own immortality. Since his first death 200 years ago while working as a doctor in the African slave trade, Morgan disappears almost immediately each time he dies, and returns to life naked in a nearby body of water. Having also stopped aging, Morgan's long life has given him broad knowledge and remarkable observation skills which impress most people he encounters, including NYPD Detective Jo Martinez (Alana de la Garza). Flashbacks depict events from Morgan's life, during which he has fought in wars and been married, dissected, and hanged for heresy; when he has been exposed, Morgan has fled to somewhere else in the world. Only antiquarian Abe (Judd Hirsch), whom Morgan and former wife Abigail found as a newborn in a German concentration camp during World War II, knows that he is immortal. Morgan is stalked by a murderer, "Adam", who has learned his secret, and claims to have had the same "curse" for 2,000 years.

Criminal Minds (Season 10)

I've started watching this show since Season 3 ~ 4... by the far crime tv drama!!

Synopsis:
The tenth season of Criminal Minds of the American police-procedural television show premiered on CBS on October 1, 2014. The series was officially renewed for a tenth season on March 13, 2014.[1] It consists of 23 episodes.[2] This season will have an addition to the cast with Jennifer Love Hewitt playing an undercover agent who joins the BAU.

I only get to know about Constantine through the movie that Keanu Reeves stared in.

But this drama is alot more darker and intense. I hope like the other drama, Supernatural, Constantine can last till Season 10!

Synopsis:

From the popular DC comic book series "Hellblazer" comes John Constantine: a demon hunter and dabbling master of the occult who battles the demons and tricksters of Hell with a wicked wit and a dangerously deep understanding of the dark arts. Struggling with his past sins, his soul already damned to Hell for when he did the same to a child, John is pulled back into events of the demonic world after having given up on it. Now, he'll do whatever it takes to guard the innocent from the converging supernatural threats that constantly break through to our world, which occur more and more frequently, due to the "Rising Darkness". Balancing his actions upon the line of good and evil, Constantine uses his skills and a supernatural scry map to journey the nation to send these terrors back to their own world, all for the hope of redeeming his soul from eternal torment.

Synopsis:

After witnessing his mother's strange murder and his father's wrongful conviction for the crime, Barry Allen is taken in by Detective Joe West and his family. Allen becomes a brilliant but socially awkward crime scene investigator for the Central City Police Department. His obsession with his tragic past causes him to become an outcast among his peers; he investigates cold cases, paranormal occurrences, and bleeding-edge scientific advancements that may shed light on his mother's murder. No one believes his description of the crime—that a ball of lightning with the face of a man invaded their home that night—and Allen is fiercely driven to vindicate himself and to clear his father's name. Fourteen years after his mother's death, an advanced particle accelerator malfunctions during its public unveiling, bathing the city center with a previously unknown form of radiation during a severe thunderstorm created by the accelerator. Allen is struck by lightning from the storm and doused with chemicals in his lab. Awakening after a nine-month coma, he discovers he has the ability to move at superhuman speeds. Dr. Harrison Wells, the disgraced designer of the failed particle accelerator, describes Barry's special nature as "metahuman"; Allen soon discovers that he is not the only one who was changed by the radiation. Allen vows to use his gifts to protectCentral City from the escalating violence of metahuman criminals. He is aided by a few close friends and associates who guard his secrets.

I seldom like to watch historical drama.. cause it's too slow and lengthy.. Just not my type..
But Reign, something abit different.

Synopsis:
The highly fictionalized series follows the early exploits of Mary, Queen of Scots during her years living in France. The first season opens in 1557, with Mary living in French court and awaiting her marriage to Prince Francis, to whom she has been engaged since they were six. Mary has to contend with changing politics and power plays, as well as her burgeoning feelings for Francis and the romantic attentions from Francis' bastard half-brother, Bash. Francis' mother, Catherine de' Medici, secretly tries to prevent the marriage following Nostradamus's confidential prediction that the marriage will lead to Francis' death. The series also follows the affairs of Mary's Scottish handmaidens Kenna, Aylee, Lola and Greer, who are searching for husbands of their own at court.
Opening narration for Season 1 (episodes 2-11):
The second season opens after the death of King Henry II, and follows the rise of Francis and Mary as King and Queen of France and Scotland. Together they have to balance their marriage with their roles as monarchs, and deal with the rising religious conflict between Catholics and Protestants.

That all for my currently favorite tv serial.. feel that I've sorely neglected my TVB HK drama. But I think with CNY coming, it's a good time for me to slack at home and complete all my dramas!!

Xoxoxo,
Felicia

1st year as a mother

Today marks my first year as a mother. Guess till one is a mother, you will never forget the day you went into labour. Thank fully for epidural.. I had a almost painless labour.

Our lives has change with her arrival. Yes, there are those days / nights when it's tough. To soothe a cranky baby when you only have a few hours of sleep. To exercise those patience when we don't know what Danielle wants and keep whining and crying.

There those nights where Danielle sleep through the night.. I got a good solid 6 - 8 hours sleep.
And those first milestones that she hits. The first time she calls, Mama and Papa.

And now that we are a parent for 12 months, I think my patience level up abit. My knowledge on Danielle has increased. I know what she likes and don't like. What makes her tickle and laugh. And my hug as her comfort and soothe and ease her pain or fears.

Being a mother for 12 months, I often wonder how can someone so small yet hold my heart to tightly?

This quote is exactly how i feel.. I guess all mothers will feel the same.

Took childcare leave today to spend some time with Danielle and I hope to bring her to the indoor playground to play.

Hopefully her flu is getting better...

A short getaway to Bintan

This post comes in late..

Last year December, We wanted to bring Danielle to somewhere nearby for a short getaway. Hub didn't want her to take the plane for the fear of some radiation or something. (I know right! Its bullshit) so we eventually settled on cruise or Batam / Bintan.

As it's December and it's like super high seasons.. all the cruise department date weren't good or the prices are way too expensive.

So after much debate, we went with Bintan and push our travel date forward so that hotel prices aren't that expensive.

We were all very excited about our trip and especially me cause it's the first time Danielle will be joining us. But for some reason, when it's nearer to date, my mother in law  strongly advise us not to bring her along. So we didn't and it's a blessing in disguise. Cause we got our much needed rest.

To be honest, I feel that Bintan being in Indonesia, isn't the cheapest place to go to. Whole island can even accept SGD.

So it's almost like Sentosa but the slightly cheaper version.

Activities are quite alright. We did archery, riffle shooting, ATV ride. I even drive a buggie around the resort..Have massage almost everyday.

First time at Singapore Cruise Centre

A getaway with just us 2.. but we miss our little girl sooo much!

The front porch of our villa. The view is just so amazing

The huge king size bed.
Judging at the size of the room, it's possible to add a crib in and still have plenty of walking space

The amazing view from our Villa Room
Add caption
Straight after our not so nice lunch from the resort restaurant,we head to Pasar Oleh Oleh. It's a very small place that is mainly cater for tourist. Lots of massage shops and 2 - 3 restaurants and some gift shops and a polo ralph lauren factory shop. Didn't purchase any polo tees as I'm unsure if it's real??!

Nothing much to purchase. Just headed here for massage and bought some beer and tibits back to our resort.

The place where we head for our massage. Price is reasonable and techniques are quite good!

When back to our room to enjoy the sea breeze and our cheap beers!

Start of our day 2 activities.. one can rent the bicycle, ATV and buggie for a ride around the resort.

Can't remember how much was the ATV. But there was 2 route for you to choose. One that is around the resort track and a juggle track. Mr Lee wanted to try out ridding ATV so he choose the juggle track. It was quite fun cause I just sit back and relax only. Only when he need to ride those up / down slopes that it got abit tricky. Because mud water will splash up!

After riding ATV, buggies, raffle and archey.. we went back to Pasar Oleh Oleh for another massage and the highlight of the day.. Dinner by the Sea @ Kellong Resturant.

Sorry, didn't snap much photos cause we were too hungry and the food were yummy! I would say that it's worth the price that we paid. All seafood were fresh! On the side note, it will be good if one make reservations so that they will seat you at nice spot to view the sunset!

We reach the 3rd day of our trip... both of us got our much needed rest and 2 nights of undisturbed sleep!

We spend the rest of the morning and afternoon, enjoying the sea breeze and just slack away.

It's really very relaxing when Bintan is just 1 hour behind SG.

Thankful that Mr Lee like lepak holidays.. cause otherwise I won't have a chance to visit so many relaxing resort. Well, I'm used to living in concrete jungle and I love to go to places to shop!

I can't wait for our next trip together cause this time round, we promise Danielle that we are going to bring her along!

Can't wait for the 1st family holiday together in 2015.

Xoxo,
Felicia
