Good Bye 2011 & Hello 2012

In year 2011, I've been thru good times and bad times.. work hard enough and hope that my boss will recognize my work.. Spent quality time with myself, improving my photography skills, attended Photoshop workshop, learn many times esp working in a big event and most importantly, I got engaged to the man I love..

In year 2012, i believe my road is uncertain but I'm sure I will try my best to work things out. And i hope that some of my resolutions will be strike off from my list!!
Looking forward to a new year with a open heart and ready for any hurdles that's going to come in my way!

Christmas - boxing day 2011

This year's christmas and boxing day might not be very interesting or happening - like hitting the club / pubs!

As I grow older, I don't have the energy to stay up late at clubs and I hate those loud techno music... It hurts my ear! I prefer live band or jazz lounge where you could chill and relax, chat with friends and etc...

So backtrack, this year I spent the day with my fiance and I love every min of it cos we both just love to watch movies thus we had movie marathon!! Cheap and good dinner at my nearby food court + playing with sparklers to end the day for Christmas.

We didn't purchase presents for each other as we both didn't want anything. The fact that we have each other, always loving, have faith is already the greatest gift!

And during Boxing day... I met up with the gals from work ( the close ones ) for chalet. Though I would love to stay overnight but too bad i got to work the next day.. We had fun just having lunch, watching half-watched movies, ordering pizza in and gossip... window shopping online..

We also celebrate my BFF from work as her last day with my company. Going to miss her, especially those gossip chat time we have during work.. can't call her from my work place. But I still wish her my very best in her new job!

They gave me a surprise belated birthday cake cos when it's my birthday last Nov, all of them are either having exams, busy with work or on tight budget so we didn't meet up for our usual birthday gathering.. Thus they decide to post celebrate with me!! Really caught me by surprise and am very touched by they gesture!

My mood for scrapping!

Some of the altered arts scrapbooking gifts for my close friends. Nothing beats more than giving someone a handmade gift.

I also did an altered art clipboard.. This clipboard is siting on my office's workspace.. Thought that altering a clipboard is going to be hard. But actually.. I'ts quite easy, might altered more for my friends!

This Christmas was spent with my fiance, it's out first Christmas together. Didn't bought him any gifts cos when i asked him what he wants for Christmas, he replied that, "All I want for Christmas is You".. I just smile and think... Hmm, I'm engaged to a sweetest man though he may not be a romantic kind of guy but it's the small little details that makes my heart flutter..

Have a holly jolly Christmas!!

This year my Christmas is a special one.. Cos I going to spend it with my family n love one..

Its my first Christmas dinner tgt with my fiance's family. Quite fun and the food is good too!

Doing nothing much as we both dislike crowds so we are not going down to town..

So mainly just movie marathon at hm, make full use of my wii games set n playing sparklers!

What's the market rate for Chinese Wedding Dinner?

This year 2011 & 2012 have 'hot' dates like 11.11.11, 20.11.2011 etc, thus many wedding dinners!

Just in December month alone, I already have 2 red bombs!!!
So many of my friends would usually ask what's the market rate for the wedding dinner?
For me.. I usually give $80 - $100 for those normal 3-4 stars hotel wedding lunch / dinner. Only those really high end hotels like MBS, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt etc than will give slight more than $100 (also have to base on the friendship of the wedding couple)

So as i source around for any guideline on wedding ang bao.. I come across this article. Found it quite interesting.

Rainy seasons....

If only I live in the other part of the world.. than I will experience Winter Christmas... But in reality.. I'm staying in this tropical island.. where the weather is either Sunny, Cloudy or Rainy...

So the rainy season has arrive.. For the past few days, It has been raining almost like the whole day. How I wish I can bring my boots out to wear!!

Anyway.. stop all my rumbling of the weather.. These are what I did over the last weekend when the weather is just so perfect for me to scrap!

Dream Holiday

Did some altered art bookmarks for my friends as Christmas. And since it's holiday season, I scrap this photo that I took when I was at Vegas last year.. A "fake" eiffel tower down the strip of Vegas... And I actually did some creative filter that is in my new Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone.

To be able to go to Paris or Rome is my life time dream... hope that someday I can actually step foot in this city of love.

I'm now an Android user..

I've been thinking all these while whether to switch to iPhone 4S or Samsung Galaxy S2.

iPhone are great! Wonderful apps... simple and neat interface. Not compatible with some audio and video formats. Got to convert which i find this step rather troublesome.

Samsung Galaxy S2.. Android smart phone.. The apps are also almost on par with Apple. Vivid colours!
Most of all.. compatible with most audio and video formats! Meaning i don't have to convert any of my videos! Awesome!! Plus.. they have this apps that I could borrow ebooks from library! Which solve my problem of getting a ebook reader!

I want a TABLET!!

Greedy me... I've seen my colleagues using ipad & galaxy tab.. as at that time, I was only keen to purchase Amazon's kindle for my e-reading pleasure. Than my wonderful colleague intro to me this apps in Android marketplace that I can actually borrow e-books from Singapore National Library.. Since than I'm sold. Have been eyeing on Galaxy Tab 8.9 but I find it wasn't that worth to purchase it as I still need to sign a monthly $40++ plan for the mobile data thingy and on top of that to pay $299 for the tab.

So.. as i was researching for my next holiday trip, i stumble upon this blogger's site and he introduce Ainol Novo 7 tablet.

The price alone has blown me away (less than SG$200)... so after reading 2 post from the blogger. I decided to do more research and than i managed to source from ebay.com.sg and thru forums, many ppl were said that they managed to purchase theirs in Sim Lim Square.

Personally I don't really like to go to SLS because to me, it's like a black market. Every shop you go, sure will kenna chop carrot.

I'm quite thankful that I'm blessed in many ways.

Love.. I'm happily in love with the man that I love and who loves me equally lot! Wedding bells aren't going to ring yet as we need to save up $$ for the wedding banquet and also housing.

Job.. I'm holding a stable job. My company does give afew good benefit but I still think that it isn't paying me well enough.. Cos when I compare my job (my current title) with a executive that's is siting next to me. Sometimes I think my work load is much more than her.. But her pay is definitely higher tab mine. This sucks!

So I believe that it's time for me to move on and get a better job!

Friends... I don't have many but I glad to have that handful of true friends that are always ard for me..

Goals.. It's coming to an end of year 2011.. And I do have afew goals that's not achieved this year. So I'm going to bring forward to next year!

Budget!!

December - the month of giving! Well, at least for me... my $$ is flying out of my wallet like no other ppl business!!! ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

Why?

- I love buying Christmas gifts for my family, friends and colleagues. This can't avoid in the month of December

- 3 wedding invitations - esp 1 of it is my best gal friend since Secondary School!!!

-  Replaced my canon 50mm f1.8 lens.. because the auto focus won't work anymore. Shouldn't be greedy, to save that $30, went to purchase a 2nd hand.. End up I spent more!! =(

- Purchased Jestar ticket to HK. Luckily it isn't too expensive because it happens to be Jetstar's promotion!

- Got my friend to help me purchase USS ticket...(she has some discounts!)

Well.. I just really budget myself!! Cos I need to save alot for my upcoming holiday, wedding and CAMERA!!!

I've been eyeing on 550D! Hopefully I can replace soon by next year! =)

Piano Smooth..

Recently my bf is always playing this repertoire, Kiss the rain by Yiruma. It's suppose to be a piano piece and he tried it on guitar. Sound nice and smoothing...

So after listening.. I tried to play on my dusty Electone. I seriously need to practice more!! Before my notes reading were quite ok, ever since much long time I have not practice, my sight reading sucks!
Anyway, after trying on the first 8 bars of the song, Kiss the rain... I went to Youtube to search more..

I'm so in love with his piano playing!










Hmm... he's really good!! Maybe I should search for his CD and listen whenever it's my bedtime. As recently I develop a habit of reading and listening to light music before i hit the sack!

Lunar Eclipse, Seen & Snapped!

Few days ago, Yahoo news mentioned something about eclipse that can be seen in Asia.
Didn't realized that it's tonight until I saw it thru my room's window.
It's really an rare  occurrences and a great opportunity to view one of nature's most beautiful view.

I'm going to Hongkong again!!!!!

This time, both my friend and I decided to add Macau into our itinerary! We are going to skip our Disneyland & some other tourist attractions as we have already been there before! Kinda of tempting to have a half day in Disneyland because they have just open Toy Story land! Anyway, we just booked the flight and have yet to discuss our itinerary for this 4D3N trip so even if we give Disneyland a miss this year.. there's also another time for me to visit Disneyland again with Bf!! Yeah!

And I'm also looking forward to another mini getaway from my bf next year.. but we can't confirm our date yet... so gotta wait and see how it goes!

5 more months to go!! I've to double save up $$$!!!

Groupon Deal - Outdoor Photoshoot!

Quite sometime ago, I bought this voucher from groupon. A 90 mins outdoor photography with Lumiere.

There actually have 3 places to choose. Both my bf n I preferred Lower Pierce.. When there on a bright and sunny day... Weather was super humid! I wish I had portable aircon with me! Just mins of us reaching there, we are already sweating like mad!

And after we are done with the photoshoot, we both are super tired! Not from the photography session but from the heat and sweat! I really salute the photographers there! They have to spend the whole day under the hot sun snapping photos and also giving out instructions on how to pose!

So after 5 weeks of waiting.. I received my DVD today!! Super excitied!

Hmm.. my bf isn't already a fan of taking such chessy photos.. He's more natural when we take our self shots! But he's willing to give it another take when we are going to take our pre wedding photos.

Here are some of my favourite shots.. Some photos are already edited by Lumiere and some of it are edited by me!

I thought that spending $12 for 90 mins... hmm well actually i spent more than $12. I top up $60 to get back all the photos but $3 postage. So all in all, I spent $75 to experience how it's like when taking outdoor photography.. It's really fun.

As for my bf, he himself already sweat alot on normal days.. When it's under the hot sun, he sweat like a dog. So we both made a stand. Our pre wedding photos will not be taken in SG. It has to be somewhere where it's cooling.. Heheheh
