Where did all the time went too??

Looking at the calendar right now.. and its dawn upon me that it's OCTOBER!!!

Can you imagine same time last year.. I'm walking around with my huge belly, Danielle inside snugly and warm in my tummy.

Right now.. she is bubbly, cheeky 8 month old girl.

Just a few more months to go and she will be 1 year old!! Ah~~ mama can't wait for your 1 year old birthday party! * Not that I've anything planned*

Nothing much to plan for the month of October.. as I'm getting slightly busier at work with my high season coming next month.

Went to this years's Baby Market @ Expo from 2 - 5 Oct. I'm really really really impressed that this year fair is soooooo much better to shop.

Out of the 3 visits to Baby Market from Oct'13 - Oct'14. This year is the best. With many improvement. Ques to payment are short and it's pretty fast too if there is a que. Items are all well stocked. Can you imagine that I can get to buy 2 cartons of Merries Diapers and 2 set of Nestle HA 2 milk powder and even bought a star buy Graco Playpen.
Her Children Day gift - Graco Playpen

Merries Diapers. I think I have at least 5 mth supplies here.

Of cause, I've also pre-ordered a Recaro Easy Lift Stroller and 1 carton of Baby Wipes from Japan that claims to be 99.9 purified water wet wipes.

Her very expensive Recaro Stroller which we got it at $499 from the pre order deals.

Oh!! I've also sign up a photography package for Danielle with The Studio Loft. I've been wanting to take some nice shots with Danielle cause it's always me behind the camera and no one is around to help me take nice shot with my daughter.

Selfie with Danielle is almost mission impossible too...

So I think this chance to take a studio shoot with her..
1. Mother and Daughter shoot
2. Pre-celebration for her 1 year old shoot. ^_^

Yeah!! I got the package that includes the CD of all images! Plus I will need to top up extra $15 per head for me to be included in the shoot & $30 surcharge for booking an appointment on a Sat.

I've seen the photos taken by The Studio Loft and I super love it!! I can only hope that Danielle will  be a good girl and let the jie jies / auntie help her take her nice photo!!!!

Counting down to 1 more month for her shoot and gonna hunt some nice props to bring along for the shoot!

Fernvale Lea Progress

The progress at Fernvale Lea is pretty fast... from 2012 when we first check out that place.. its just a bare land...

And now...

Thinking that we might be getting our keys soon so I thought that I might as well get some quotations.

So far.. I only check 1 freelance ID quote. Loved her work.. and it seems that they are a husband and wife team who works as an architects in the day....

Hubs and I are considering to hire contractors or ID... Gotta to research more on these! The Pros and Cons..

But this ID that I checked out her quotes, she is quite transparent as in she does not earn a cut from the contractors. And she will do supervisory works for us but its just once a week.. (Wonder if it's enough??!) And this service applies to contractors from your own contacts.

Of course, just designing works only and other services, the quote sum up to 6K. Is it consider expensive??

As for contractors, I could get some of my friends contacts..

But as of now.. I'm trying to collect the mood board for our house. Pretty excited!

These are some of the designs that we favour and wish to adapt and make some changes to call our own.

I can't wait for HDB to contact for the next appointment and start our renovation journey.

My Short Break in Penang - Day 2

Well, we start this day early because we are planning to explore Penang!!

Penang is a town with rich heritage so and since our stay here is pretty short.. we thought its best that we visit those famous wall murals that artist Ernest Zacharevic has painted on some old building..

I know there quite a few wall murals scattered around Penang but the weather is way too hot for S and I to go hunt for it. So we had our breakfast in the hotel and head out to take a cab and ask the taxi uncle to bring us to the place where all the wall arts are.

Did we mention that their taxi system is also like Bangkok. Taxi uncle don't on meter and you mostly need to bargin or what out the price that they quote you. From what we learnt. if the places you are going are quite nearby, like maybe 10 - 15 drive. They usually quote 12 ringgit. Guess its quite standard unlike BKK... they really chop carrot!

Finally we reached the place and the weather was super super hot! Rented a bike and cycle around. I personnally think that it's a wrong move cause it's very crowed on weekends. Plus the hot weather.. my backside almost got burnt!!!

Finally managed to eat the famous Chendol in penang!!

Had their Brown Sugar beancurd... nothing to shout about..

Honestly the weather is way too hot for me to handle. So quite a couple of times, we head back to our hotel to freshen up and head out to our next destination.

As my luggage is way too small... so my friend and I head out to 1st Ave to purchase another luggage since Silkair allow me 30kg baggage allowance.

Stay on for my next Penang post of FOOD!!

What is wrong with these people??

Recently I've been encountering alot of bad customer services.

1st Encounter - Nail Salon at POMO

There is a nail salon that I've frequent alot cause it's near my workplace and it makes more sense for me to get my monthly pedicure done nearby than to travel all the way to FEP.

Granted.. at FEP, I've more choices of nail salon and prices varies too. Plus I've a gf who opens a nail salon at FEP. I could just visit her to get my nails done and at a discounted rate too.

Long story short.

Signed a pedi package that cost me $300++ during my pregnancy, resume back when I start working after taking 4 months maternity leave.

Was recently told that I've left with 2 session and package is gonna expired in 2 weeks time. How am I gonna finish up 2 sessions within such short span? Hence I asked for extension. Initially they refuse and I ask the girl who served me to help me. Cause I'm away for 4 mths and the nail salon didn't even offer me this service of suspending my package and neither did I requested too..

They just keep asking me to sign another package so my expiry date can be extended. Please, if 2 sessions if such a difficulties for me to complete. What makes you think that I can complete the new package within the time frame?  Somehow the lady who did my nails managed to help me to extend my package. And her supervisor unwillingly do so as if I owe them and they are doing me a favour! Please! Where is your basic customer service?

And my status has change! I'm a mother of a 7 month old girl. I'm not a single lady who comes in every month to get her nails done as a pamper session.

At least have some flexibility lah!

I decided to rope in my gf to finish off the 2 sessions. Called them to check their double slots.

First I called them and their shop is closed so this lady who picked up my call promised to check and get back to me.

One day passed... no calls from them.
So I called again. Got a date, check with gf. And it's not good.
Called them to see if any available ones. They hastily just say that no double slot. Only left with this date. As if like telling me, take it or leave it.

So my gf and I decided to head down to the nail salon instead to book a slot. When we reach there, they gave us a slot in early Oct. A weekday evening.

All set and book. The last time the lady said (Straight from the horse's mouth). "OK, we confirm your appointment liao. Don't call us again, we picked up your call till we scare".

WTF! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO CALL ME BACK AND YOU DARE TO MAKE SUCH COMMENTS.

I made a feedback on foursquare and apparently I'm not the only one who finds that their customer service sucks! The lady ( I assume is supervisor or shop owner) is damn rude.

And to prove that this lady is soo rude.

My gf called to make an appointment because she can't make it for our initial booking due to
conflict work schedule.

So I told her to make another appt on her own. She called the lady and the lady asked her this, "Erm, you're gg to use Felicia's package right. She has CONDEMN our services. So do you still dare to use our service?"

HELLO! You're supposed to reflect on this alright! I highly doubt she has any basic customer services.

I'm also in this customer service line. I can understand that it's frustrating treat with all sort of demanding customer. But that's not the way to treat a customer, okay?

But i know that I wasn't rude or demanding to them...

Told my husband about it and he told me to forgo my session. He said,  "Why get yourself work up and pissed off over that 1 session of pedi not as though you can't earn back the money. And what goes around comes around. The world is round."

So nah! Liao Niang not gg to frequent this nail salon. In fact I condemn their services.

Okay.. feel so much better to rant it all out!

Good night!

My Short Break to Penang ~ Day 1

Finally I get a short trip to Penang with my girlfriend, S. It's a welcoming short break as I take a few days off as a mummy and wife.

This trip was plan in around July and just within weeks, we just confirm a travel date and off I went to book the airtix and hotel stay.

Air tix isn't that cheap cause we didn't book like way in advance however it's my first time taking Silkair at Changi Airport Terminal 2. I know lah, I am a suaku... Hahah
I've only travel via Terminal 1. Be it budget or full commercial flight.

As for Hotel, we stay at Glow Hotel Penang. The same hotel chain in Bangkok.

Let's take a selfie before we fly off.

Goodbye Singapore

We are able to reach Penang

Here we are at Penang International Airport.

When I reached Penang International Airport... their airport are pretty spacious and it's quite straightforward. Cause the airport was too big to begin with...

So we are off to collect our luggage and purchase our pre-paid card with 3G for our stay..
And luckily we booked a airport transfer from the hotel, so once we step out. Our driver are waiting for us!

I totally forgotten to snap a picture of the exterior of the Glow Hotel.. This hotel is pretty new, room size is just right and it's cosy.

Freshen up and we are off to explore the area. Did I mention that we didn't have any itinerary. So we just walk around aimless and we are looking for place to have our lunch.

So we found this...

Mama Oneton Mee
Apparently this shop is quite well know cause I saw afew newpaper cuttings pasted on their shop wall.

Since the light is good, let me take a selfie!!

After our lunch.. we head around the area to have a walk..

House or apartments here are all very rustic. Very much hertiage..

And since we didn't have much on our plan, We decided to head the shopping area - 1st Avenue shopping mall to shop which is within walking distance from our hotel. Roughly about 10 - 15mins. But this time of the year, Penang's weather is just like Singapore... TOO HOT!

And at Penang - 1st Avenue, I actually managed to buy a Nike Sport Shoes for SG$89! I believe it's quite a new model but I'm unsure of the price that SG is selling.

Managed to grab a couple of stuffs for hubby and Dani...

After shopping, its' dinner time! We head back to our hotel to place our stuffs and freshen up.

Walked to the nearest hawker street - New Lane Hawker

These are some of the foods that we order. I think it's understatement that you don't order 1 dish for your self. We actually order afew dishes and share.

Life is Penang is somewhat similar to Singapore but I realised that it isn't very happening like Singapore. Its more rustic and slightly slow pace.

In fact, I kinda like that lifestyle..

So we ended the night like a drink and a new mask for me!

Hello Beer.. We finally meet again after I stop drinking for 1.5 years.

Gonna say "Hello" to my V-v Face.

Pst.. get this mask at DFS. Its much cheaper than purchasing at counter.
Got it at $67.50

Next up on my Day 2 at Penang...

Have a great week!

I'm nuts about Coconut Drink!!!!!!

Recently I chance about this new craze of coconut drink from a local company called COCOLOCO.
Their coconut drinks are pure and  freshly cracked and there is no added preservatives.

Honestly I fall in love with drinking coconut water when I was at my 3rd trimester. It's so refreshing and when we are on our babymoon in BBK. I could get coconut water almost anywhere and it taste so good. Plus it's cheap!

But when I'm back in Singapore, I couldn't find those fresh coconut at a reasonable price. I know the price in BK and SG can't fight. But could you imagine the same small coconut in BK, cost us like less than $2 but in SG supermarket, 1 fresh coconut can easily cost us $3.50 and even more. So ex, plus I need to chop off the coconut head in order to consume the water~~~

So I went ahead and order it!

It mention on the bottle that the freshly cracked coconut water has to be consume within 3 days. And they really mean it!! Cause I left 1 bottle in the fridge for more than 3 days and it just turn bad. So it's 100% fresh!!!

The cost.. Hmm, Some might think that it's costly.

Minimum order is 6 bottles which cost $25.20. But there is a flat fee of $5 for delivery. Currently they do not have the option for self collections.

So I guess $4.20 per bottle might be expensive to some. But I think the price is quite alright for a once in a while indulgence.

Right now.. super miss drinking this coconut water!! Now I hardly wanna touch those in "can" types ones!!

Gonna send it my order again in Sept!
