Photo Canvas

After we got our photos from Melody of Oh,dear! Photography..

We have been deciding which photo to blow up and print as canvas. After much thought, we decided to print the one that we took at Garden By the Bay.. I search online for many canvas print shop and found Brilliant Print. They have this guareente that if you change your mind, you can change to print another photo without additional cost!

Brilliant Print is so efficient too, I received my canvas within 3 working days after i placed my order! Thumb up!

I super love this picture! Somehow Melody managed to capture our blissful love.

Another picture that I super love is the one that we took at the Falls inside cloud forest... so i decided to print it out as 8r size photo, but somehow the photo couldn't fit the frame. And I happened to stubble upon a diy blog that has a post on DIY photo canvas!

I bought a 8'x10' canvas from Spotlight and Modge Podge glue (matte)...

Steps to do

1) paint modge podge glue thinly on the canvas
2) paint modege podge glue on the photo, place it on the canvas and smooth it to ensure that there is no air bubbles.
3) paint modge podge to the side of the canvas, wait for it to dry and paint black paint to paint.
4) Need at least 2-3 coats of black paint.
5) thinly apply glue to the photo. It will gives a a matte look. Can skip this step if you fancy, gloss look.

Now I have another photo canvas to place it at my reception table!

Happiness + Bliss... (Our story)

Our first holiday together

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day.. and it's my first year anniversary with my bf.. To others, it may seems like a very short year. But many stuffs has happened between. (None of them are bad! (^_^))....

So there's my story... <3

Firstly we met each other long time ago, while I was still working a location branch in PZ. He is one of the newly employed guitar teacher but at that time, we just had normal conversations as then we each have our own relationship. We didn't really contact much, just occasional smses only. Until he resigned from his teaching post to study his degree and I continued with my work, studies and a relationship that is filled with so much ups and down. 

So during the years that my bf resigned, there's totally no contact at all... almost forgotten that he exist. (that's really bad of me...) So till 1 day, 1 of our existing guitar teacher needed to take 1 month break from teaching and my colleague some how managed to contact my bf back to do relief teaching... It was then my BFF at work let him know that I'm single.. And he was single too at that time.

Hmm... I'm not sure what makes him contacted me.. But he did sms me and ask me out for movies! So i said ok... And there's where we started...

Smsed each day daily... Each of his messages just make me smile...

Went out to have lunch, dinner and movie dates. And not long, he asked me to be his gf. So I agreed on Valentines' Day... He's the guy that I've always wanted so I didn't need to look any further over his shoulders..

And in 3.12.2011... he proposed to me. He gave his all to get the proposal ring.. Nothing romantic but it touches me lots!! ( I wonder if he would upgrade my ring??!! Cos he said that he will give me a bigger one when he earns enough...) Hahaha.. 

14 Jan 2012, we decided to ballot for 4rm flat in the Jan12 Ballot exercise... Just 3 weeks later, we received our que number... and now it's another 2 weeks to our first appt.

I hope that tgt we can have more milestones tgt...

My mood for scrapping!

Some of the altered arts scrapbooking gifts for my close friends. Nothing beats more than giving someone a handmade gift.

I also did an altered art clipboard.. This clipboard is siting on my office's workspace.. Thought that altering a clipboard is going to be hard. But actually.. I'ts quite easy, might altered more for my friends!

This Christmas was spent with my fiance, it's out first Christmas together. Didn't bought him any gifts cos when i asked him what he wants for Christmas, he replied that, "All I want for Christmas is You".. I just smile and think... Hmm, I'm engaged to a sweetest man though he may not be a romantic kind of guy but it's the small little details that makes my heart flutter..

My scraping Inspiration

Rainy days are always my best source of inspiration to scrap! Because of the nice weather.. I can let my creative jucie flow..

So last weekend, I did these 2 layouts after viewing 2peasinabucket free monthly class. This October theme was stamping. And to those who know, I've 2 trays & 1 big bag of wooden and clear stamps.. so many that are there a few that i've bought ages ago and didn't even use.

So right now, I make it a motto to incorporate stamps in my every layout if possible. Hahaha... ^_^
That way my stamps will be so much cost effective.

As I always fancy simple and clear cut design thus all my layouts are always very simple. Don't have alot of layering. Just simple and nice.

My next project will be a standing mini album... so stay tune...

Seeing that this afternoon is such  lovely... I decided to scrap at my living room... Enjoying the breeze while building my layout up.

Did a total of 2 layouts.. and did some add ons to my mini album project.

I'm glad to have the chance to travel to the USA. Thought it's my first USA trip but I won't consider my happiest trip.. I'm hoping to have a chance to travel to USA with Bf for our honeymoon.. perhaps New York. (^_^v)  I shall keep my finger cross and work very hard towards it!

 Another place that holds my heart... Hongkong. No matter how many times I've been there, I always look forward to visit her. But I'm resisting the temptation cos I still have many other countries that I would love to visit and explore.

Using October Afternoon Mini Album

This is our very first mini album that i've created. Purpose is to journal and preserve all our happy memories. Nothing about that, that i've to complaint. Cos I think I'm really blissful right now. 

Another reason for creating this mini album is that i hope to journal all our trips, movies dates, dating trips to garden / beach / park into a yearly thingy and hopefully can be placed at our wedding reception.

A special table where it said, A trip down memory lane..

This table will host our dating time..... all the way till our marriage. =)

This month is gonna be a busy month for both Bf and myself...
Really hoping that Sept will pass soon..

Busy Work Life...

Recently my job is getting busier, lots of changes but the best of all is everyone is somewhat unsure of their exact job role. Seriously when ppl say, " I know you are very busy, though I don't know what you are doing." Makes me pissed off.. Come to my work desk and see how many stuffs I have to handle. These ppl really get on get nerves!!

Anyway, I've given myself dead line - a max of 1.5 years in this company than i can say good bye. Believing that I will find another job that pays at least commensurate with what I'm doing.

Why am i suddenly so grumpy about work?? It's all because yesterday I schedule my dental appointment at 630pm near my house. And I only manage to leave the office at 6.37pm. The moment I announce that i have to leave early due to a dental appointment... Things just keep coming... More instructions... More things to follow up! Haiz. Can 1 imagine, all i need is a 30 mins visit to the dentist and i've to reschedule this appointment for more than 3 times!

And in order to make myself feel better again, I meet up with my Bf who is also getting busier this time with his final lap of his degree program and also with performance gigs and teaching!! I'm glad that at such times he's able to understand my grumpiness and also encouragement and support.

At the basement of Concorde Hotel. there is an inconspicuous food court that house this yummy Thai food store!!!

This Chocolate Mint from Cold Stone just improve my day so much more!!! I just love their ice cream.... really solid. Though I still feel that the one in states is so much bigger in portion and of course cheaper than SG! hahahaha

We ended our mini date with a little visit to my favorite scrapbook store at PS, purchase some goodies.. Managed to get hold of Jillbean Soup tags. Really really inspire to altered 1 as book mark!

And another layout that i scrap lift.. If you notice, I used Charice and Unique's duet - "Wherever you are" as my title and a part of the lyrics as my journal.

Love this song to its max!! Beautiful song and lyrics...

Oh... TOMOLO is TGIF! Yeah!

Obsession with STAMPS!!

Oh yes, ever since i step into the scrap booking world...

I practically obsessed with tools, paints, alphabets stickers, embellishment and etc.... But now my current obsession will be stamps!

Stamps just allow my creativity to flow freely. I can use them in all sorts of ways. And I also love to use water colour crayons to colour them as well! Great for crafts, cards and scrapbook layouts.

And there is 1 new additional to my ever growing collections.

Tim Holtz - Good Thoughts Stamps

I've been eyeing for this stamps like for ages... And finally when i was "researching" for cheaper scrapping tools deals, i stumble upon this website.. www.simonsaystamps.com
And they are selling this wonderful stamp at the price of $21. Which cost me about SG$30 after the conversion. And it's alot cheaper than my local scrapbook store is selling.

So happy!! Yeah!!!

What am i up to ??

Well.. things are kinda of busy for me.
Busy with work... Just completed an event in June and there's another big event in my company that's coming up in Sept. Which mean July - Aug will be superb busy for me as there are many admin matters to handle and prepare for this big up coming event.

And than I can't wait for my holiday in Oct. Right now, We are discussing which holiday packages to take, whether to book via online portal. transportation and etc.. Really excited cos it's my first holiday trip to beach/resort area. Mostly my holidays are more to shopping spree trip.

Did a very simple cap tin from Maya Road for my friend's 21st birthday....

Used alot of pop up foam dots to make the cloud and photo "pop"! Hopefully she likes it!
Haven been scrapping lots recently but i'v purchase quite a number of scrapbooking goodies!

Had a great dinner with the girls last sat. Love the macaroons to the bits!

Suddenly I've an urged to scrap... fingers are all itching to scrap..
So i quickly printed out my photos and start to mentally sketch my layout....
Used about 5 mins to match my pattern papers and start building up my layout.

I didn't used any title for this layout.. as i used a pattern paper with alots of words.. So using the journal card's subtitle as my main layout title. And what i love best is... the quotes.

Just nice for my photo!

Yeah! My next layout will be on my mini danbo!

This is a smashing idea!

I can't remember how i come across to this video.

But it's really a smashing idea to store all your journaling, quotes, notes, thoughts and even doodle!

Scrapbook Altered Art Projects

Recently I did 2 projects.

1) Is a madalion flower for my best friend at work.. as her birthday present!

With the help of my favourite glue : Becon's glue!
This glue is really good!! It's fast drying glue and it sticks really well!

2) Ikea Altered Art Frame

Remember that i bought this unity stamp quite some time ago and never had the chance to use it... Today while watching tv serial.. i decided to stamped it and use my water crayon to colour it.. And i'm quite happy with the effects..

Used glitter mist on the photo frame boarder and randomly stamp the musical notes.. Suddenly i itch to own a stamp of words.. like those kind of words that you can find in dictionary.. hahaha

Maybe i shall try searching try various stamp makers website..

So Far Away...

Did a layout using a sketch from creative scrappers... It's fun and easy. Completed this layout within 35mins!

I've having wanting to scrap on this photo as i realized that i didn't scrap much 4x6 photos on my San Francisco trip.. And now i finally have the motivation and inspiration to scrap!
